they are pretty solid, gm axles are a direct bolt in, and a 350 will fit under the hood with ease, so will a th350.np208 combo. I knwo this first hand as I did it with my 83

Ive never seen my dad get that pissed off. he was so mad he didnt talk for nearly a week. it had somewhere around 150k on the original 318 with no major problems except for the front axle engagement that didnt work sometimes, it was super gutless and got about 4 mpg. Id still like to have one but I dont see me giving up my chevy for one anytime soon
