Just got this today. I have always loved crew cab short beds in this body style but you hardly ever see them since GM didn't make any. The truck needs LOTS of work, but is almost rust free.:D

Here are a couple pics that he sent me. It was already dark when I got home so I will have to take some better pics of it tomorrow to post up.

looks to be a 6" lift and has the 37" hummer take off goodyear mt tires.

looks like a real nice start to a great build up project. :thumb:

Very sweet!! Just exactly what I would like to have.
Would it be rude to ask how much you payed for it.

I like it. Can't wait to see it with new paint.

I really like the truck. It was listed on CL locally for $3000. Turns out the truck was only 2 miles from my house and I had seen it a few times before, meet with the guy and ended up paying $2500 for it.

As it sits now it has SB 350, 350TH tranny, all time 203:doah: just rebuilt d44 with richmond locker and 4.10s 14b out back.

So what year is the truck?

Or should I ask what year the body and frame are?

The D44, depending on which Design it is, will be either '82 and older or '76 and older.

The 203 'case will be a '79 or older.

What are the plans? Swap a D60 under it?

Sweet looking truck man! If it was mine I'd stick with the FT203 for a DD, but I'm odd like that. :dunno:

What kinda frame is under that thing? A bobbed CC/LB or something like a 10-12' service truck frame? I've always wanted to build a truck like this but I just don't have the time to do it. Maybe one day if we ever find a house closer to work! :doah:

I'm curious, too. Wonder if the frame has been cut and shortened?

Lets see pics of the job, if its been done this way.

I have always wanted a CC SWB with SM465, NP205, D60 front, 14BFF rear on a 6" lift with 37"s. That would be my dream truck. You have a great start.

He told me the frame was a suburban. The title for the frame doesn't say what it was so not 100%. When he first told me it was a burb frame I was a little worried about it being a complete hack job but after I went and looked at it they did a pretty good job shortening the frame. I will post up some pics tomorrow in the light.

My plans for the truck are to drive it.:D Build and fix it up for sure but I want to do it a little at a time so that I can continue to drive it. I am enjoying my blazer build but bummed sometimes cause I can't go flog on it every now and then.

I want this truck to be very street friendly and possibly a tow rig for the blazer someday. I haven't decided what to do on the motor yet but planning a 700r4, 205, D60 up front and 14bff for the rear.

Here are some pics of the frame sectioning. The diamond shaped fish is behind the cab the other is below the front door. Can anyone tell me for sure how to tell if the frame is from a burb or truck.

Suspension wise it has some sort of shackle flip, looks to be 4" of suspension lift and 3" of body lift.

Also is this a D44? One thing I missed when looking at the truck (In the dark). Was the gas tank. He put the damn thing in the toolbox in the bed of the truck.:doah::haha::haha: That HAS to go.
