just recieved my Hedman Tork Step headers..... kinda feel cheap

I just didn't want your post to be misleading. My $200 headers are fairly close to the bolts too. If spending twice as much still doesn't end that problem, I figured everyone might as well know.

Well i figure if they last until this winter or next summer then they were worth it, cuz itll give me time to Replenish my Funds.... The guy at summit said that the only difference between the headers i bought and the elites is a thicker flange, thicker tubes, and the coating..... so fitment shouldnt be an issue...

Why don't you stick to worrying about your own posts Tim...

A tweak to gain a little more room at the collector isn't a fitment problem in the sense it was being discussed. Bolt access and plug access and wire burning are issues that are much more difficult to fix and are the ones people bitch about. If Dorian didn't have problems there then I'd consider his set to have fit perfectly. As he pointed out, the shackle didn't hit his headers, he just wanted a little more clearance down there. BFD.

Which entailed me wedging and prying on a 2x4 between the frame and header while the engine was running.

Ah, the smell of burning 2x4....

son of a..... thats one of the reasons i got away from the JBA's...... Hows the spark plug access?

Not bad...
I haven't burned any wires...

I don't know who uses straight boots on their plugs, but the "test" set of wires I used had a couple of straight boots on them, and those are pretty much a no-go.

I bought a set of 90* boot plug wires, and they fit fine. #5 is still close (I don't know why they made the #1 runner so tight against the block there, plenty of room to route it further out) but the boot has been fine.

I had thought he'd done more than, "tweak" his $400 headers. Before I posted that, I had thought he had to actually heat and bend his headers with a torch to make them fit correctly.

Asking the question added clarity in my mind, and added something to the thread if you ask me. If someone says that they fit perfectly, they should bolt on with zero issues and clear everything.

If you've got to "tweak" them a bit, it might be minor, but that is not fitting, "perfectly".

I didn't think my comment was out of line at all, you just take it that way.

What you may remember me saying is that I had my girlfriends dad weld an EGR fitting onto one of the tubes since I had to do that to run EGR with the Vortec heads.

Yes, it was simply confusion.

All is clear now.

No hard feelings. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Nope, you were being a smarmy asshat again...not just in this post but many others. I'm not the only one that's noticed, just maybe one of the few calling you on it.

Go read your own post in the lounge...it's become enough of an issue that someone brought it back to the top yesterday.

trusty, at some point you'll figure out that you're wasting your breath (so to speak) with tim. he thrives knowing that hes getting a rise out of someone. if thats not the case, i really really feel sorry for him and anybody around him.

on an unrelated note, whats with "tim's offroad" selling the steering box brace for $110?? uhm /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
