K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

Yeah I'm making cut outs once they're done. I cut out the other pattern last night and I'll get it bent up tonight.

Got a little more done on these tonight. Both boxes are bent up and I welded some 2"x2"x1/8" angle in the corners just to give them a clean tight edge. They'll be mounted high enough that you'll only see the bottom of the plate and the sides of the boxes so I wanted to make sure they'd look clean and straight.

I tapped some DIY4X gussets for some 7/16" NC bolts and I'll weld those gussets in the corners of the boxes so you can set the boxes over the plates and they'll sit there without having to hold them then you can run the bolts up through the bottom of the plates and lock the cages in place.

I'll finish tomorrow night then get them cleaned off and painted up. Then I can get back to truck stuff. :)

Finishing the cages tonight so I can get back to truck stuff. I have some serious motivation now. This all showed up today while I was at work. Still having a hard time getting over the sticker shock! :)

Cages look nice. So are they going to be mounted to the ceiling or on the floor or what?

Looks like the parts for your axles are worth more than my entire sorry truck! Congrats! :xmas:

DONE! Got this project officially wrapped up today. We spent about 12 hours down at the building getting it all done. I'm really happy with how it all turned out, the picture quality is great and absolutely mind blowing that it's doing it at 100'+ throw from the back walls.

Some pics from today...

Ok I've been out of town all week and am finally back and have free time to get back to the truck. I put my bender together tonight, I'll pull it apart and paint it tomorrow.

Plan this weekend is to clean out the housings and get stuff ready to take and get the gears setup.

It's beautiful.......:waytogo:

I had some time this afternoon so my dad and I got some stuff taken care of...

First we got the bender all painted up...

Then I torched off the old shock tabs and got the 14 bolt cleaned out and did a small shave on it. Used a sawzall and cut the big chunks off then used a flapper wheel to grind it smooth.

Then pulled the 60 out and cut off a few tabs that were on it from the PO that I don't need and got it cleaned out and ready to go.

I got both housings all cleaned up and coated with a bunch of WD40 so they're ready to head off to the shop to get the gears/lockers installed.

Hopefully this week. It makes it hard since I work very standard hours (M-F 8:00-5:00) to get stuff dropped off and picked up. I'll figure something out though.

So on the horizon for parts....

35 spline Warn Hubs
Yukon Cromo inners to match my outers
Spicer non-greasable joints
2wd steering box
14 bolt diff cover

All loaded up! I'm going to go in early tomorrow so I can leave at 4:00 and drop the axles off to have the gears and lockers put in.

Not sure how busy they are so hopefully I'll be able to pick them up sometime next week.

Got the axles and parts dropped off this afternoon after work. He's going to setup the gears, get the ARB line run and weld the tubes on both axles. I should have them back next week sometime. WooHoo!
Of course now my truck fund is pushing close to the broke status but there's plenty of stuff to do for a couple weeks while I replenish it.
