Did you run an aluminum or copper collector gasket, or paper?

I'm running some really thick paper gaskets. I got them off Summit.
I would ditch those for copper or aluminum. Otherwise you'll probably continue to blow them out.

I agree. I don't run paper gaskets at the heads or the collectors anymore.

I use copper on the engine block side and aluminum on the collector flange. No more blowouts.
they have low amp continuous duty solenoids for $20 to 25 from cole hersee, etc...

I'm running no gasket to the head since these headers suggested it, just a thin layer of high temp rtv and they've been perfect. I'll see about getting some aluminum or copper ones for the collectors.
I also run the alum. ones on the collectors and on the heads.
I did two more heat cycles tonight and both times I was able to get them a little tighter. I think this will work this time. I'm going to do it again one more time tomorrow night then put the locking tabs back on and run it, we'll see how they hold up. If they blow out I'll order aluminum ones.
Ran by my fitting place after work and picked up a new air chuck, coil hose and fittings for my CO2 regulator as well as a line to go with my converter fittings I ordered for my ARB from Polyperformance. Shouldn't have to worry about leaks or holes for a good long while now.

Please post lots of pics of the trip if possible. Hollister Hills always looks like such a cool place on the Four Wheeler videos. It would be awesome to see pics of some old Chevys tearing up the place! I promise I won't get jealous or anything.
Will do, we're leaving Friday and will be back Saturday night because there's a car show some of us are going to Sunday at chevysmithz71 and my church. Should have lots of good pics from the whole weekend.

A car show at church? That's a good idea actually. People can bring their kids out and not have to worry about a bunch of drunk fools playing vulgar music and having impromptu wet T-shirt contests and stuff like that.

Did you get a fixed psi regulator for your co2? And do you plan on using that coiled hose on the co2? I have read that the coils freeze up and crack due to how cold the co2is and the plastic/pvc they are made of. Just wondering.
Yep this is our 15th year this show. I don't know why but our church has a lot of gearheads. Cars, trucks, bikes, quads, sandrails and side by sides are stuffed in quite a few of our garages. We average about 200 vehicles and north of 2k people at the show and since day one it's been 100% free. No entry fee, all the food/drinks are free and of course free stuff for the kids.A car show at church? That's a good idea actually. Yeah I got the fixed regulator off Polyperformance and yeah I'm planning on using the coiled hose. If it cracks I'll return it and go the rubber route. I do a lot of business with the place I got it so they'll take care of me.
Awesome let me know how it works because its easier to cary the coil hose rather then the rubber. I may go that route as well.
