K30 dually

1984 k30 single cab dually work truck
Those mirrors tho... :ears:

I dont think Ive ever seen a set of mirrors quite THAT big on a square body.

Looks like a solid foundation though. Cool truck! congrats!

Thank you! After a little bit of searching they appear to be west coast senior mirrors. The drivers side is in good shape but someone clearly hit something with the passenger side. I am probably with the unpopular opinion but I like the look of the big mirrors.

Any idea where to source parts for them?
is the mirror itself toast? If it's just the bracket, that wouldn't be too hard to fab something up. Cheap bender, a vice and a drill from the looks of it.

My Grampa's old truck had the big tow mirrors on it, but I don't remember them being quite that big. I'm sure they dramatically improve visibility.

After doing a quick search, It seems like those mirrors are more common than I thought. Huh...

these were the only tow mirrors I had seen on squares, just like the ones on my grandpas truck:

Unfortunately both of the brackets were damaged. One of them was bent pretty bad and the other is snapped in half. If I can't find a reasonably priced replacement I will likely attempt to repair them. I think I could get away with sliding in a slug per say and weld it back together. The actual glass mirrors are intact but not original. At least one was swapped out for a defrost option. I would like a matching pair. I had considered recreating the broken brackets. After a bit of research i decided against it. In order to get the crisp crimped tab ends I would need an electric hydraulic press with special dies to form and punch the shape into the tube. Now I'm sure I could do something up in the bench vice, but it's far from the top list of things to do. I do have a set of doors with the other style camper mirrors if I can't come up with anything for a while. Just like the picture you shared

They are c60 stuff. Just tune into the big truck world.
Semi/ dump truck stuff.
There is a yard near me with older medium duty trucks for sale but the owner was not interested in parting anything out. I'll just have to keep my eyes out.

So far I have only done general maintenance items.

Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, belts, air filter, oil and filter. Swapped a few tires around and got them balanced.

Still need to do hoses and a coolant flush as well as sort out some fueling issues. I will get some better photos of the all around condition as soon as I get time.

I have the original west coast mirror heads from my dad's 1978 K30 cab/chassis. I picked up a partial set of brackets from a friend not long ago. Now I'm just waiting for my dad to sell me the truck when he doesn't need it anymore. Otherwise, I have no idea what to mount the mirrors on.

Here are some new ones. Not the cheapest. You.might find them cheaper. But not terribly priced either.

My brackets are find but the mirrors were F'cked so I just bought some of these. Figured to add a light and some heated option as well.

Thanks for the link! Those appear to be the newer style brackets. I am curious if they are a direct bold in replacement?

This is the design I am looking for.

If you ever get tired of waiting and want to let them go, let me know haha.

That year truck just looks right with the flat bed and bias plys!

Sub'd for this one. Love me some 4x4 dually action! Mine just needs a front driving axle added and maybe the divorce 205 t-case I have been lugging around for the last 15 yrs.
