so after getting the cab on and the tires all aired up... i think this thing sits awfully high, for a stock truck anyways, when i install my 4" lift springs from a k10, will i actually get 4" of lift, or less because its a one ton??

those are stock size 2005 chevy 2500 tires... 265 70 16s or whatever...

they will typicaly sit higher do to stiffer/ thicker springs. youll prolly only see 3" of lift...roughly

ya our k30 sits very for stock, if it didnt have the running boards it would be hard to get into.well not hard but tougher than my stock k10 its a work truck and DD so my dad dosent want to have to climb into it everyday

stock tires are 245/75 16's, unless those are different

My K30 crew cab sits a lot lower.

It almost appears to have a small body lift to me, the frame seems to sit fairly low, but may just be my eyes. I see negative arch springs, so that appears stock.

I think most K30's have 3 leafs in the front packs, unlike the 2 in 1/2 and 3/4 ton's.

Most, if not all 3/4 tons are 3 leaf and 3 leafs were an option on k5's/ half tons

yassir, its a 79 1 ton 4x4 truck
350/465/205... no body lift...
definately needs new body mount bushings though... 3 leaf front springs

I've had several Rancho 4" soft ride springs part number 86206 where they list them as 4" to the K5, 10 and 20.
Rancho lists the exact same spring on their website and catalogs to lift the K30 "only" 2.5".
I've had these springs on a K10 and 30 before and Rancho wasn't lying. The K10 did go up considerably more than the K30 did.

well then, the 4" springs i have are gonna need a zero rate to get me up enough for 38s...

mebbe its the lack of inner fenders that make it appear to be higher? the hd wheels and tires were taller side by side than the dually fronts i pulled off, btw...

It does look like it sits a little high, but your springs are probably just in good shape. That and your tire is slightly turned so it might give even more of an illusion that its taller thatn it is. :dunno: Besides, isnt that the goal of about 99 percent of people here? Jack the truck in the air. (but not too high otherwise you look gay) :D

My 3/4 GMC had 2 leafs in the front packs as my K5 does.:o

x2

my 1/2 ton came with 3 (instructions for snow plow on dash, so that could be why)
my 3/4 ton came with 2
my 1 ton came with 3
my other 3/4 ton came with 3
next door neighbor's blazer came with 2

Who knows, depends on the build location and use/equipment.
