K30 sits high?

My 89 Crew has the same rims with 285 BFG AT's on stock springs, so I do think the 1 tons sat higher cause I dont think the same tires would fit under my K5 if it was stock. Yours does apear to have a lot of room though. Good to know about the springs because i was considering replacing mine with some 4" lift ones.

correct me if I'ma wrong here but I thought the 1ton frame is 2" taller ? like basicaly having a 2" frame lift!!

The "K" series trucks sat 2" taller due to the spring mounts on the frames - One tons sat the same height but they do have a deeper "C" channell than the 1/2 & 3/4 ton trucks .

FWIW - my 1983 K-3500 Crew Cab had all the H.D. goody's and it still came with just two leaf's in the front.......

No, not quite.

The K30 frame rails at the widest part under the cab goes downward about 1.5". The frame does not go "up" to give the K30 the "added height".
Spring perches are another thing that give the K30 a little bit more height, but its not 1" like many guys think it is. It's really somewhere like 1/2" or so, higher than a 1/2 or 3/4 ton. Too many people think the D60 gives them an autmatic 1" added lift but it don't.
Even the 14FF between 3/4 and 1 ton perches are slightly different. Maybe a 1/2" higher on the 1 ton, not more. I'm not running outside in the cold just to measure this stuff right now.
