So I just got (almost) done with my 70. Fresh paint on a near perfect no rust California rig-nice gaps. Almost no aftermarket parts. The drivetrain is tight, brakes and rides excellent. 700r4,np241sye,holley sniper,3.73, hydraulic assist,33". I should sell because I want to redo it again and it needs nothing. Picked up an aluminum 5.3 and want to convert to 2WD. So then I picked up a 71 patina, rusty and rockerless jimmy. Since I love my body- yes alot of blood and sweat went into it, I was thinking of doing a body swap so the rusty original jimmy not running is now on a great chassis drivetrain and sweet riding rig and selling it. (Let someone else do the rust repairs) Putting my body aside and redoing the jimmy chassis 2wd with all new ifs coil over suspension and powering with the ls dropping my body back on and there it is exactly what I want. Does this sound crazy? Should I try to swap engine and everything else and forget swaping bodies? I have been thing about this for a while and was hoping someone has done something like this and would love some ideas and feedback. Especially with 2 WD conversion on the chassis. Thanks to all y'all Got a few weeks off over the holidays!

I would do the 2wd swap and build to the rusty one. You may find things that you want to do during the build that would require more modifications than originally expected. Then drive the heck out of it with the finish as is for a while. Make the underside as clean as you can while building.

That would make too much sense. But yes I would have to get 30+ to be happy and it seems like there are not many buyers at that price. I guess I should try. Thought a nice driving one even rusty would sell for 15 easier.

I believe that you are correct, you should try selling it first. You could possibly be surprised. I honestly don't know for sure.
