Well i am really considering buy a samuria as a trail truck. i can get a 16 foot trailier from one of my friends for cheap. how do you think my 78 K5 would tow something like that. 350/TH350/NP203/Dana 44/12 bolt gov-lov 4.56/2.5 inches of lift/33 12.50 mounted on 15X8's. or do you guys think i am better off finding a cheap 1/2 chevy?

Thanks

Cool. just wanted to run that by someone before i destroy a nice truck. i towed a big old 20 foot boat with the x-girlfriends wrangler it broke 2 months later right after i broke up with her.:D it was really scary the hole frontend was almost off the ground

You have the same drivetrain as a half ton chevy so there is really no difference there.

ok if i go this route it only going to be for a year or so till i get some money to get a long bed 3/4 ton

Sounds like a good idea if you don't get too heavy on the trailer. The biggest benefit I see with the blazer is that the blazer would be a good rig to go and tow the sammy off the trail should something bad happen to it off the beaten path. (as opposed to a 2wd 3/4 ton or similar)

yah i dont wheel my truck but if the trailrig got stuck and i could get to it without messing up the body id go for it. there is lots of 4X4 suburban floating around for around $1500

Samurai eguals light . Easy pulling .

Me , I have towed a Blazer tub with top home on a heavy rental yard trailer , in overdrive , with a shackle flip :thumb:

Its all about the cooler , and the equipment .

i got a tranny cooler sitting around it rated for a class C motorhome towing a 6000lb trailier. and i got a extra capasity tranny pan.:D
