I am thinking close to the same thing. You already have the shackle flip in the rear so all you need is 4" lift springs in the front. No custom driveshafts or funky steering correction needed. Cut the fenders for the 40's and go. You could even slap in a zero-rate or small body lift for a relatively cheap, at least a lot cheaper than the thousands just for driveshafts.

I'm currently doing the same thing to my k10 12" springs and tons sitting in the garage right now just need the rest of my cross over stuff and it's going together. I know it's not gonna be a smooth ride and I may end up with some broken teeth but I'm not building it to be an ultimate wheeling capable machine. Just cause I think they look bad arsss obnoxiously too big and I have other rigs for wheeling. I just want to build a monster truck

Could keep the shackle flip and put a set of 52s up front then trim what u need to.

I can understand somebody's desire to have a great big mud truck as many people may be impressed, but honestly unless you plan on driving through rivers and ponds there is no reason to lift it that high. Keeping the lift low is much cheaper, easier, and makes a more functional rig.

Why not start pulling leafs out? What do you have to lose? There's only so far you can go with that because of how long a 12" spring is. As the spring flattens, the axles are moving back and soon the tires will be in the fenders. You could move the axles back forward and inch or two (search on this) by drilling new holes in the springs. You might need to relocate the shackle mounts, similar to the 52", 56", 64" spring swaps you can read about here. You can also get B52 brackets from DIY4x, but after a while it's cheaper to just sell the 12" springs and buy something else.

Ok. I after thinking a lot I am going to pull the 12" out and run 6" fronts with zero rates and for the rear leave flip and run a 2" lift spring with a zero rate. Will this work decently? I have 40x16x15 LTBs on 15x10 wheels with 3.5 back spacing will they fit?

I like this idea but you'll have to do some trimming to avoid rubbing.

That will work really well. You are gonna have to trim but I think you will like it much better than the bigger lift

Trimming is OK because my girlfriend got me a new Milwaukee 18vfor Christmas that I am itching to use!!!
