I'm currently slogging through the sheetmetal repair and have started on the last (I hope) major section that I'll need to repair on the interior and that is the rear wheelhouse, specifically the passenger side. When I pulled the wheelhouse off, I found that it had quite a bit more repair needed than I originally expected. I am sure that I can do it but it's going to take a pretty significant amount of time for me.

I am really trying to retain as much factory sheetmetal as possible through the other body repairs I've done, and was able to do so with the driver side wheelhouse. I had bought a set of new wheelhouses from AMD a year or so ago and could install one of those on the passenger side. I did a rough test fit and it isn't a 100% bolt in but I am pretty confident that I can make it work.

My question: Should I attempt to repair the factory wheelhouse or should I just mod the AMD one and install?

Pictures below showing the rust damage on the factory stuff and the AMD part.

If I didn’t live in Minnesota, I would do exactly that.

Do the AMD unit. I personally like dealing with new sheet metal over rusty stuff. That being said, I have dealt with a lot of rusty stuff.
