K5 round 2

The ribbed version is the later model years. Are the brake drums the slip on style too?

I haven't pulled it apart yet, but if what I've been reading is correct...it should. Will this cause me any issues converting to disks?

Got the wheels back from Mike at Crossed up, very cool guy to do business with :waytogo: Also ordered the rear locker and R&P from CCOR, got the lifetime warranty with the locker, pretty good deal. Also saw a video yesterday, wish I had a link for it, that was supposed to motivate us...our A-10's blowing up a few old K5's and 3/4 trucks...my boss asked me what I got from the briefing...apparently "they waste alot of square body chevy parts" was not he answer he was looking for :whistle:

Scored some 63's from a 2500 yesterday, minus the over loads. Traded them for a spare ATC70 motor (my other project). What do y'all think about inboarding them underneath the frame rails? I read some on it and it doesn't seem to be a real issue, keep the shocks outside the frame and build some towers. Those in the rear and some TC 4" ez rides up front when the boss allows, maybe some 1" zero rates F&R? Also any trimming required to stuff a 38" tire in the rear fenders?

Late night barnes4wd high clearance diff cover order, suppose I should buy a grinder and some disks this week, my tool selection is weak!
:grind::grind:

Made a visit to home depot this morning... New Milwaukee grinder and skill saw (wife wants a house for our muts) and my locker 5.13s and inst kit were waiting for me when I got home :woot: also ordered a new grille from LMC. The billet one on there now doesn't really do it for me. Oh and she's finally street legal:waytogo:

I wouldn't put the springs under the frame, it introduces alot of body roll. I had mine there and moved them just outside the frame, a touch narrower than stock one ton width, that's a good trade off

Looks like a nice truck!

Thanx, it's a pretty solid 15-footer. The PO painted it himself, believe it was his first paint job. And I plan on redoing it in labyrinth gray (newer chevy color) and black Al's liner on the bottom. Which will be my first paint job, but I have a friend who will be assisting me who used to work at a body shop, so hopefully it turns out well.

Awesome, I think I saw your setup while searching for info on inboarded springs. I sent Kert an email about some bracketry for the rear...maybe someday I'll have the tools to do my own thing, but he's always taken pretty good care of me so I don't mind throwing him some cash, as long as he doesn't mind being bombarded by emails :weld:

Well after a call from/to Kert tomorrow my bumper and rear suspension bracketry should be in work :zombie15:
And I came home to another box today, my barnes4wd 14bff shave cover. That thing is beefy, 3/8" plate throughout :draw:
