Hi everyone, this is my first post! I was wondering how many of you k5 owners have power rear windows or manual and would you change to either or if you had the option?
Jeremy

Hi and welcome :D

I have had both types in different K5's I have owned, I like the convience of the power window, until you have a problem with it. My current K5 (project), I think if I can scrounge up all the parts it will be a manual setup. That's my $.02 at least.

Manual... but that's after a full rebuild and keep it greased. They like to break if they get dry.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do with it. I also like the conveniece of power, but when I bought my Jimmy it was missing the regulator cable. So I got a new one. It worked when I put a drill on the end of it. But when it was hooked to the motor it didn't have the juice to roll it up or down.

I've had both on different blazers and i would never go back to a manual crank window. The convienence of being able to lower/raise the window while driving is awesome. Imagine driving down the hiway and all of a sudden it starts pouring and your rear window is down and you can't pull over or stop right away and you have something in back that CAN'T get wet, just click the switch on the dash and UP it goes. :thumb:

This is just one scenerio and obviously not a critical factor to go one way or the other but as i get older i don't want to stop everytime i want the window up or down. Each style will work correctly if kept properly maintained so it's really just a preference on your part. The manual cranks are known to break so you might be replacing a few in the time you own the vehicle.

I totally agree with the rain scenerio, for me though, full convert and lined interior, the back window being up on down wont make much of a difference :D
