K5 Test Vehicle needed in San Diego for Cage

I'm going to come down to your house one of these days and learn how do all of this bending and welding. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yours would be easy, just skip the back half... unless you want to run plates to the cab and continue it out the back... might be an interesting option.. hmmm.

Mines a 78 as well with provisions for the rear hoop. I was going to take advantage of the existing holes in he back. The 73-75 trucks have a different design behind the rear seat and many have factory mounts there as well which I plan on making use of. The 76 on up will have plates down on the floor and backing plates.

I would really like to roll one of these cages but its such a waste if the truck is by any means salvageable, especially a K5. Sooner or later the right opportunity will present itself and I'll jump on it. Talk about a recovery operation after the fact!

I know where there's a 73'75 body sitting in a field in Murrieta. Still has the frame and front axle. We could use it as a test mule since it's probably not good for anything else.

Hey Richard, how about directions? I'm sure there is always more things salvageable from it.
Wiring, dash, fenders, doors, seals??????

e-mail or PM me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not sure I want to go yank someones k5 out of a field without a little prior consent first.. can see the news footage now!

" Stolen truck found on hill with the suspected perpatrators who... are rolling it down the mountain???, we now break over to the chopper on the scene..." Hahah
