Keeping the truck level with a 4\" lift

I'm under the impression that in order to keep a truck level when installing a 4" lift, you have to install a set of zero-rates in the rear.

Am I correct? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Re: Keeping the truck level with a 4\" lift

Depends on condition of rear springs. Also depends on whether your shackle flipped or blocked. I assume most blocks are close to same height from kit to kit. Mine actually sits a little higher in the rear with my flip. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Sorry, I should have been a little more clear with my description. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

No shackle flip, no blocks. New 4" springs on all four corners.......

OH , then I guess it just depends on the spring rate and free arch. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I did the ORD flip and 4" Superrides in front.
If my gas tank is empty, it sits just about level.
When full..it sags about 1" /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I wouldn't see why you would have to worry about it w/ all new springs, just keep the mother in law out of the back seat /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

Paul, on my K5 I put all new 4" TC springs and needed the zero rates to level it out. /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

Most likely due to the D60 front gaining you some unwanted extra height.

Good point, tho that extra height certainly wasn't unwanted...... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
