Kids car seats in a crew cab

Soon. Well parts of both, that is :D so I dont have to feel guilty turning 2 into 1.

2.5yr old loves big trucks, and we have plenty of car seat time ahead of us, so thats how I’ve justified it to myself. It’ll be slow build, but should be worth it in the end.
Same here.
I have a couple of burbs and a crew cab (cab) complete with interior .
I also have the frame for it but not sure what I will do with the frame hybrid or custom

You certainly have much better access to rust free parts. Definitely jealous of that for sure.

Now that you have both, can you do a side by side, apples to apples comparison of measurements between the space in burb 2nd row vs crew cab 2nd row. Tape measure with front seats all the way back or something similar?

I have always had at least one crew cab and one suburban.
I just never bothered to compare.
I will check it soon.
I am heading out on a road trip to Southern California and should be back in a couple of days

Since they use the same rear doors I’d bet the seat spacing is the same.

Negative ghost rider. Check the compare pics i posted above, focus on relation to door panel. I’m thinking the seat is 3-4” farther back.

Thats why we need confirmation :)

I can tell you from memory that the suburban has more space, what I will provide is numbers.

So it looks like the seat bottom is shorter but the back is in the same position?
I can't check mine yet, I am still stuck in socal.
That could be the case, since the sub seats collapse.

That said, when you looks at the back of where the top of the sub seat sits vs the CC, it is certainly farther back.

Makes sense. Based on my quick rough measurements, I have to add 5-6” in addition to CC cab in order to get the back of sub seat within the cab.

Being that they are different seats it’s hard to measure but they are close enough in seat bottom length to say that the whole assembly is shifted rearward relative to the crew cab.
Yeah I was trying to see in your pictures and I thought I saw the back of the seat in the suburban the same position as the crew cab but on my phone the pictures aren't great
