This is just a safely reminder is all more then anything, and some advice that Will help possibly if you use it. In my shop and of course anywhere, but especially a garage shop you have Brutal steel and wood corners that will kill you or certainly can injure you. Something I've used and done for years is use the floaty noodle foam thingys from the dollar store and cut it up for bright colored protective bumpers around the shop. Believe it, It helps. When you swing a hand and accidentally smash it against something hard and sharp that's steel or anything and it hurts, then you do the same and it's a soft pad, It's awesome Not to feel that pain.

Safety cones placed to where they will move works too. You don't want to slam immovable objects, especially sharp ones. You WILL lose every single time. Like the cone I have on the wood shelf. I want to finish these shelves and they will have radiused corners at the front. But until I get these finished I want the protecting of sight, seeing it visually, and a buffer of movement so I have time to react hopefully in time not to take the brunt of a full impact that causes a worse injury. My biceps have both taken a beating on my dirtbike handle bars sticking out. Deep bone bruises hurt damnit.

Been there done that, ripped more shirts/pants on sharp edges then I care to remember. Good PSA.

That is a good idea, pool noodles cut up would work on things like that you could be punctured by...

Shops are dangerous places, especially if your not anal about neatness or organizing things like they should be..(guilty as charged,in the 1st degree)..:whistle2:

When your not feeling great, you tend to be sloppy, let things slide, build up--next thing you know the shop is a hazardous place to be in--or more so,they are a dangerous place even if everything is as it should be..

My garage is a wicked mess, and I really need to get out there and start chucking stuff out or put it in a shed...
I have too many things cluttering it up, and I'm always either reaching too far over piled up stuff to reach something hanging on the wall and risking getting impaled by something between me and the wall that has sharp edges,or a tool with a handle like a broom or rake...and I'm always bumping into things trying to navigate around them, bashing my shins on hard objects,etc..

Every work bench in the garage has become a :poo: collector, that too needs to change..

Now that my depth perception is off I have to be careful, when I bend over to pick up an object,my field of vision is limited--if I have a baseball cap on with a bill,it often blocks me from seeing something in my path that will poke me in the face or eye until its too late..
I find my balance is easy to lose the older I get too..

The other day I went to get some bolts out of a set of drawers that is under a pallet rack with shelves, and I have to duck to fit under it to get to the drawers...when I went to back out of there I picked my head up too fast and smashed the back of my skull against the pallet rack, then stumbled backwards and then ended up falling in slow motion on a snowblower attachment for my tractor..almost got stabbed by a rod on it sticking out..

I got some nasty bruises and luckily only a few cuts, and a gash on my head and a headache...that snowblower is going outside or in the shed--it was broken too,and should not have been taking up space in the garage to start with..

A week ago I went in the garage just to turn on a battery charger and in the process,I rubbed against a chain saw chain...ripped my shirt but I wasn't cut..I threw an old rag over it and all the other sharp things nearby..

A friend of mine was offended when he came over with his 6 year old son a while back, and I told him not to come in the garage--the place is full of 1000 things that could fall, cut him, even kill him ,you know how kids like to poke around and touch everything..bad enough I almost get killed out there,I don't need anyone else getting hurt on my property..

Even something as innocent as a tire can hurt you..
Yesterday I went to sit on an old bald Goodyear off my truck and when I let my weight down on it,the tire was soft enough to cave in..
...and it did a fine job of crushing my last remaining testicle and pinched my ass like a lobster claw..:yikes:...that tire is going to be taking a trip to the dump, that didn't belong in the garage either..:mad2:
