87 k5 with a 350 tbi and a 700r4 behind it. The problem is sometimes when comeing to a stop or switching from forward to reverse the truck dies. Sometimes only once others multpile times. Usually when it is warm. I have also noticed a knocking which seems to be comeing from the trans area. Im guessing that it may be the torque inverter. Just looking to get some opinions. Thanks in advance Denny.

knocking noises from the bellhousing are most likely the flexplate has cracked.

Could be your lock up torque converter isn't unlocking when you come to a stop--it would be like stopping a truck with a manual tranny and not pushing in the clutch in...and the knock might be the clutch in the converter...could be the flexplate is cracked also making the knock, but its doubtful it would make it stall..

take ur inspection cover off and see if theres any marks on the inside of it or up in the bellhousing. when my flexplate cracked i was able to mark up my inspection cover.

Im thinking it may be the converter cause she does have some driveability issues all of a sudden. Can any one point me in the right direction to get a good converter The trans on has maybe 10000 on it.
