Just a couple while wandering around chasing the races. Kinda snuck in some wheelin in between spots!

Nice rig Steve. Gotta get together at some point dammit. Did you ever get those seats or gas tank in? Or was that for the other rig?

I had a blast as well. Wish I could have met all the CK5ers out there. We should have been more organized and figured out a spot to meet up at. There was at least 7 to 10 of us or more out there this past few days.

Ya, 4 link front, 63" leafs in the rear. Brian Hays of Ridgecrest designed it and had all the brackets laser cut. Works well and rides like a caddy.:D

Looks great. I drive through your town at least a dozen times a year. I will keep an eye open for your rig!

Let me know when your coming up and we will meet up. I never did a build thread cause Im too lazy! Check out bhays build thread on here. Mine is exactly the same suspensiion. I wish we could have all met up at KOH, but there is so much going on and so much to do Im not sure when we would have done it. Maybe next year though.

I got back around 5 this morning. Was supposed to pit for Napier, but the guy in charge was hung over or something Thursday morning when we were supposed to have a meeting, and we left after he wasted 30 minutes of my time waiting for him to get ready in his trailer.

Instead, we had a blast spectating. Bummed I didn't bring my rig. I had thought it wasn't ready for those trails, but we successfully took my buddy's XJ on 40s up and then back down Jackhammer Thursday night without breaking anything or getting hung up at all. I got some 5 pt Mastercraft harnesses and I'm going to try really hard to have a cage and trailer ready to go for next year.

Ended up finding a couple sweet spots to watch the desert stuff from out by Clawhammer and Wrecking Ball.

Also learned to bring a good FM radio with you to the trails. They broadcast the audio from the coverage on 102.5 FM. I brought my DeWalt radio but the guy I was with went off and left it locked in the bed of his truck at camp all day :(.

Ya, we had a blast just wheeling around getting to different spots to watch. We had race radios with KOH and many of the teams freqs in them as well, so we were able to keep track of what was going on pretty well. Its my second year going and I will be back next year!

I went 4 or 5 years ago and just drove my car. I definitely wished I had brought my own rig. Kinda sucks being at the mercy of others for a ride.

Looks like you can't get as close to the action as they used to allow tho.

How about next year we have a CK5 meet up at a designated stop and a spicific day or something. No reason at all we should not all meet up. I think it would be cool to have a bunch of CK5ers together.

I drove out there on Friday. Had a great time wheeling to the sites. would have been Great to meet up with CK5 board members. Damn that wind was Cold and did it snow on you guys Fri. night?

We loaded up and left Friday afternoon. It snowed here and there on the way home. We were able to wheel out to different areas of the course and get as close as we felt safe. I am totally up for a meet next year. its just that theres alot going on, but hey if theres a meet Im there.

That's what we did. If you stick to the spectator-specific areas, this year was really restrictive. We didn't even mess around at Backdoor, and we gave up after about 20 minutes at Chocolate Thunder (although that was a killer place to spot scantily clad women during the EMC!). Wrecking Ball and quite a few desert areas were great for spectating.

I'd definitely try to show up to a meet and greet. Hopefully I can pull things together to trailer my rig down for next year too. After taking an XJ up Jackhammer, I'm a lot more confident in my abilities out there.
