L.E.D bulb test & review thread UPDATE : EBAY cheepy headlights to j.w. speaker headlights

Sorry, I didn't see you ask on my other thread. Oddly, I went back into my ebay history so I could find the exact piece I ordered, but it's not there.

This link should show the search results for the adjustable flashers, buy it now only, from low to high: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=adjustable+flasher&_sacat=0&_sop=15&rt=nc&LH_BIN=1

The first result (orange flasher) is what I have, I'm certain.

For the 1157's, it appears "COB" is the key word https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=1157+led+red+cob&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_odkw=1157+led+red

That is the style I like for the dome lights as well. Some reading on COB https://www.digikey.com/en/articles/techzone/2016/aug/the-basics-of-chip-on-board-cob-leds

I note where it says "...the highest potential of the LED chips can be obtained.", in my experience that seems to be true over the "traditional" LED setup, where they use many individual LED's, and what appears to be multiple points of light, instead of a single, solid output.

lol I didn't ask.. I don't think.. only because I knew you had so much up there, figured you already had it listed and I just needed to go find it. I know you put so much info out there, and have helped me and I didn't want to be a bother..

so with that..
I would buy 2 of these and put them where my 2 silver flashers are on the fuse block?

thx bud...

I will double check my truck tonight, but pretty sure you only need the one flasher, and it is that lower right one. Will verify tonight.

thx.. yeah I don't know but I think... my harness has 2 circle cans.. one is left and one is right.. but as I said. I think.. regardless.. if I buy 1 ill buy 2 to have a spare just in case so if I only need 1.. all good...

i said that factory has 2 . 1 for turn and 1 for 4 way .

easy way to tell is turn 4 way on and fell flasher click . then turn signal and fell . unless there quiet or electronic then it would be kind of tuff to tell .

I don't recall having any issues with the "stock" flasher for hazards, I'll have to verify. But then again, I've not gone full LED, so there may be enough incandescents to allow it to continue to work properly.

I went and checked, adjustable on the turn signal flasher only. I'm guessing since the hazards are all lights on at the same time, the draw is enough for the standard flasher.

so winter time is here and i had to dig out a old friend for the winter season . . . . MR.FISHER snow plow . . .

well after running these j.w. speaker led headlights and then needing to run plow lights and there old school halogen sealed beam i did 1 plow day and 3-4 trip in to town at night and said NOPE . . .

today was the day . swapped in 2 low beam j.w speaker lights in place of the stock trucklight sealed beam units . had to pull the ground pin and install it and bend it to let the other 2 pins and socket go in . the plow lights are a small square but high AND low beam so its a 45* twist on the ground pin . i dont need high beam with these so i just did the pin trick and run the plow lights low beam . also last year i did a heat test on letting a unit run on for 1hr and the led heat sink on the back didnt get to hot to even come close to melting the plastic plow light housing so were good in the cold windy snowy winter with them in there .

i also did 2 more ZEVO 1157 amber bulbs for the park/turn in the plow lights so were now 99% all led minus the dash gauge lights .

old light and sealed beam .
old sealed beam on garage door only .

new light installed .
low for truck and or plow lights the same .
low both truck and plow .
ALL 6 ON . . . 4 low and 2 high .
