L31 vortec engine what water pump mods if any ?

what mods if any do i need to do to use the 88-95 serp belt style water pump on this vortec block ?

using the full serp belt setup off a 88-95 sbc .

wrote this all wrong . i edited the original post . i remembered i cant use the 96-03 pump cause it is different patter for pulley to bolt on .

and yes i know reverse flow for serp belt use .

Since the non-l31 standard rotation pumps work on the l31, and you can mix up a reverse rotation pump with a standard rotation, don't see any reason the reverse rotation wouldn't go on the l31.

make sure all the pulley's line up so you dont throw belts. You can get an AC delete pulley for real cheap..if your not running AC it saves a bunch of weight. And don't get the water pumps mixed up, cause they all look the same from the outside.

All serp drives are reverse rotation at the pump. TBI or L31 vortec. I know the older system should bolt to the Vortec block and heads without a problem. The support struts that come off the a/c bracket to the intake may not work with the stock Vortec intake setup, but that wouldn't be too hard to modify.

The L31 may have a spin on fan clutch vs one that is bolted on at the water pump. If you have the correct tools, it is a slick way to attach the clutch. It sucks balls if you don't have the wrench and holder tool.
