Laguna's newbie K5 Jimmy Build

actually I meant the autolocking ones.. would save you having to get out of the truck, although I have read that they are known to not work at times.

found a good deal on a '03?

Found a couple for good prices.

My K5 needs too much work. I put a brand new motor in it, rebuilt the trans and x-case, has brand new brakes on all four corners, new wheel bearings and axle seals, and it still is aweful to drive. Not to mention my hood is the only body panel that doesnt need to be replaced thanks to rust.

Believe me, I know the feeling. I was interested in your build because I went the same route as you, bought the thing for cheap (from yorkton actually!) had the motor rebuilt, xfer case completely redone including new housing, I went with 33's so I wouldn't have to lift it right away, and I am now in the same boat.

I had the rusty panels so I'm getting bodywork (new rear quarters) and paint this spring. Now I'm thinking I want to go with a 6.2 diesel for better fuel mileage because I live 70K out of town :doah:

Are you sure?

I keep thinking it will all be worth it when its done though.. Plus who else has a rig that looks as badass and unique as one of these things, you don't see a lot of them around in good shape

You don't need to get out every time you want to shift into 4 wheel. Just leave the hubs locked all winter, unless it's not an open dif.

Maybe Buy a winter rig, and keep your blazer as well? I personally would regret it instantly If I got rid of my 85. On another note, I have an 03 GMC That I daily drive, its pretty good in the winters, but the only downside is the cost of replacement parts. If you still work at Napa look up the price for a new slave cylinder and clutch, its not nice. for that reason I am looking for that perfect 87 4x4 to daily drive. for two reasons. 1: the TBI 2: Its my birth year. Oh and if you do decide on selling it, whats included and how much would you want for it all?

My lift components all showed up yesterday, so I may try and sell the brand new whole lift and 35's separately from the truck. Without the lift on the truck I'd be selling it for $5,000
