Large Metric Security Hardware Needed ASAP

Just use an allen head screw, take a drill and make the allen part round after you install it. If you need to remove it later, just use an easy out.

if it was me id probably just melt the head unless you plan on taking it off at some point.

I really need to be able to remove at some point.

Thinking for now i may cram some black rubber plugs in the head, and in the bolt hole below the surface.

Figure it won't take much to hold up a thief at night and get them to move to the next target.

The real issue is its a well known product, cost is known, and everyone knows how they mount.

These work? Sold only in boxes of a hundred.

If they were M10, yes.

And really, i'd buy a box of 100 at under $100. These would sell like hotcakes on some of the wakeboard/stereo forums.

Hint hint, if anyone can modify regular cap socket's into security. We'll sell them and make some money.

My buddy i'm sure could take an allen bolt and drill and press a pin in the middle. You would need to find the proper tool fisrt THEN the pin could be installed into the bolt. Unfortunately if you can't find any metric allen bolts with the pin then it's unlikely there is a tool so a standard metric allen socket would need to be modified as well at which point he would just need the allen socket and a handful of bolts.

Ok. I'll try and track down the bolts early next week. Your bolt guy has them, for sure. Thinking i'm not gonna push this issue for the 4th, as its getting down to crunch time. Woudl still like to get it setup though.

Thanks

what kind of tower speakers did you get? any chance they are wetsounds?

Damn right! Found a deal on a set of New in box Pro 60's for a couple hundred off retail.

They are freaking incredible.

For those who dont know, wetsounds.com

They are built with horn loaded compression tweeters, similar to a concert loudspeaker setup.
They often sound a little bright, as its hard to get mids/lows to keep up...but they still rock.

Have 2 JL 10w3's in the boat to try and step up teh lows!

Can't wait to try them out on the water.

The following was from 100-150ft out, recording with just my iphone. Its loud and clear played back on my phone....and considering how crappy the mic on that thing is, the speakers are pretty nuts.

Yep those speakers kick arse! I want to attach some to my rollcage when its built :D That would be rediculous :haha:

They rock, but are meant to be heard at a distance. A set of standard cans with car speakers would be getter for close range.

ACE has those socket cap bolts in M10. at least the one i work at. if they dont ask their hillman or servalite rep to get them for you. if you really cant find them local i could ship you some.

Definitely going to be cautious when/where i let them rip.

Never had a good setup before, trying to not be That guy on the water.

Stoked to listen to them and surf/ride though.

Ace hardware? In a 80mm length? I'll try another local store then....

Im pretty sure. I can look in my book tomorrow at work. We seem to have alot of oddball crap and none of the stuff people actually come in for :doah: lol

my local Ace rocks..... far better hardware selection than the depot or lowes.... usually i order stuff from Mcmaster (which if i order before 9 a.m, i'll have before 5 p.m, the SAME day!) especially oddball stuff..

but i've stopped in there many times on a sunday, and have been pretty impressed with their odd, and metric offerings....
