Leaking/smoking radiator

When I loosen the petcock nothing comes out...
When loosing it, it stops and I get resistance like it's stuck. I can tighten it back down but it won't completely remove

I mean, i could remove the threaded piece going into the radiator but won't the coolant shoot everywhere?

The wingnut portion only screws out about a 1/4”-3/8” and stops, it shouldn’t come completely out.

If you want to remove it you’ll need to wrench on that bigger hex behind the wingnut.

it screws in towards the radiator to open the wing nut stem.
I went both ways, all the way out and back in, and no fluid came out...i bet it's clogged. I've been reading a zip tie poked in there can free up a blockage.

If that doesn't work the entire petcock has to come off.

This black wire runs from the radiator fans to the battery and is joined by this other black wire, it goes to the Dakota gauges..
I have to cut this wire in order to get the radiator out...

Jesus what a freakin' mess hahaha. One of the transmission lines was stuck. Thankfully not much tranny fluid was lost other than a few drops.Petcock didn't work for shizzz.. the transmission cooler line will need replacing for sure now.

Can I cut it and rejoin it together once I get the new radiator?

loosen the allen hex set screw and pull the wire from the battery clamp.

edit if that doesn't do what you need cut both right at the yellow butt connector, when you go back together we'll think up a better way.

I still have to cut it regardless though. The radiator wire and whatever the other black is Are joined under that connector thing.

Seems likeca nice radiator. Web site is well designed and gives good information.

You don't need a ton of current to melt a terminal. All it takes is a bad crimp and the resulting high resistance makes a lot of heat. Many have suffered an overheated engine or a vented A/C system because of cheap relay sockets.

Pulled the black wire connector out and the black wire from the fan was only connected by threads.

The other black wire with the copper inside goes to ground as it's connected to the fire wall..

Could it have been leaking in between the fin rows? The bottom screws where the steam was coming from holding the fans had corrosion on them
