Little update. For the bumper, I will get a 3 cell OnX LED bar in the driving/combo pattern along with two wide/cornering Squadrons. I´ll let you know if/how they can compare with the Hella 4000 HIDs.
(If they can´t match the output of the Hellas, I might add the two Hellas to the bumper and switch the lenses on the LEDs to amber, for dusty conditions).
As for the top lights, I´m still considering a retractable light bar for the 5 Hella 4000 HIDs. I´ll wait for that though to see how far LED technology will come within a year or so. And how bright (distance wise) the front LEDs will be.

I am running a pair of PIAA 580's driving lights mounted on top of my bumper - at least until I can fab a new front bumper to mount them in.
The picture of the coyote is the only one I have with the lights on. The dog is on a hill only about 30 yards in front of me. At that distance, the lights really shine white. I really like the beam pattern as it does reach out with good throw but also spreads out enough to see more than just a small spot.

I run Truck Lites on my Cucv they are 24V here is what they look like in the day time and at night. I used to run KC's but i got these for Free so on they went.

Ok, so here is what I went with:
3 Cell OnX bar in driving combo from baja designs and two wide cornering squadrons from baja designs. Also in the bumper are two Hella fog lights from a Mercedes ML55 AMG.
Didn´t get a chance to try them out driving around yet, only lit them up in the garage, but they seem extremely bright!

Looks like it will be very bright!
I had found some 4x6 LEDs so I put 'em in place of my high beams.

Playing around a bit today... started working on mounting some 12" bars in place of the turns/running lights. Gonna move those down to the bumper, or get something different, not sure yet.

That's a good idea. Instead of putting the turn signals in the bumper, could you use the behind the grill style? My 87 has them there. Would save cutting up a nice bumper.

That's a great idea. It looks like there is room behind the grill too. I'll have to head over to pick and pull and see if i can grab a set of that style.

Nice idea!
I´ve thought of that too for a larger bar, maybe across the top under the radiator support... Might have to cut the grille though to get enough light to shine through. I´ve heard of Raptors with a "behind the grille" light setup that this block quite a bit of light...
Would be cool and stealthy though!
