First of all, this is not for sale anytime in the near future. My neighbor has an ‘84 truck that he was thinking of including in his property whenever he sells it. I told him he could get more out of it if he sold it separately and gave him my figure. It’s lived it’s whole life in the mountains as a work truck, basically hauling things to and from town 20 miles away with occasional trips to the city 2 hrs away. It has 107k miles on it and bone stock. The only mod to speak of is that the 700R4 was rebuilt with the Corvette upgrades (IIRC it’s the servo and solenoid). It’s a 1/2 ton with a 350. He had it repainted the original color about 5 yrs ago along with a freshen up of the interior. The bed was also Rhinolined. Babied it’s whole life and meticulously maintained. Everything I point out that needs to be repaired on it is done promptly. The latest being the driver’s side door pin bushings. No dents, rust, or steering box frame cracks that I can see. No one has ever sat in the passenger seat except me several years ago. What do you think it’s worth, not what you’d pay, but an honest evaluation.

To me, If I had the money I’d pay 10-15 with today’s prices. BaT or something like that might get 25-30 if he’s the original owner and papers and stuff??

Yes, original owner. I’m sure he has the papers and probably all records of any repairs done. That’s just the type of person he is.

That would probably pull some good coin. Definitely worth selling separately.

350 was only available in Cali that year!!
Super cool ride
The right person would pay $20k + easily, which is crazy to say.
Someone ordered the wrong door panels though.

At 20k you’re getting way more “truck” than you can get for 50k today. I don’t need a tv screen in my dash to show me how to back up….I agree with the above

nice truck for sure, hows the underside and frame? Thats what differentiates the nice trucks from the ludacris priced/valued trucks

This is a CA truck where we don’t get a whole lot of snow, not that it was ever driven in it, so the roads here don’t get salted. Typical mud for a country raised truck if that’s what you’re asking. It’ll be getting washed/waxed by someone shortly when he takes a trip to the city to get the door hinge bushings fixed. Not sure if they clean the undercarriage too.

Yeah, he’s not exactly thrilled about the door panels. But it’s not a show truck so he’s living with it. :D

Sorry - was referring to whether there was any surface rust or worse. No evidence of surface rust and very clean sheet metal is what brings top dollar

A few years ago I checked the frame at the steering box and rear shocks for cracks and those areas are pretty solid. I didn’t do a thorough inspection this time since I didn’t feel like crawling around in the mud. But nothing popped out at me last time I glanced at it. Like I said, it rarely gets driven and even less in bad weather so how bad could it be?

Im sure its nice, but before handing over cash definitely look at it.

I would give 15k and feel good about it, and knowing i could easily sell for more if i was patient.

What was the number you gave him?

Don’t want to say the number so I don’t influence anyone. I’m not looking to buy it, way out of my price range. He’s a good family friend/neighbor of almost 50 years so I don’t want to screw him over. Just giving advice so he can get a fair price when the time comes.

I just paid less than 4K for a similar if not cleaner truck. And it had been on the market for a while and had the price dropped a few times. I think the market is dropping fast on the west coast as the economy looks dimmer.
