So I know this gets discussed a lot but after coming up with nothing in a search I'd like to hear what the brotherhood is getting for MPGs.

Now I absolutely love my square bodies, I always have, but every time I fill my burb up it pisses me off for some reason. This is my first 4x4 and I use it as a mostly in town DD my commute is 7 miles one way. When I first got the rig and filled it up for the first time I got 11 that was the last time, it seriously seems like it gets .10 worse at every fill up. I just filled up last night and my math says 8.35 (228 miles and 27.3 gallons of gas). I also realize putting larger tires on it and running 4.10s with a 3 speed plays a large part. I really do baby this thing and every fill up is a disappointment.

So lets hear some real world research.

10-11 hwy, 8-10 city. 350, manual, 3.73s, 238/85/16s...

You're pretty much going to be in the 8-12 range with these things so long as there's a gas motor in it.

I always like the MPG threads.

25 mpg hwy

1978 Blazer, 4bt, NV4500, np205, 14bff, d60, 4.56 gears, 11x16 michelins (~38.5") ~5" lift.

It may not be a speed demon, but I can drive it without constantly thinking about fuel costs...

Just a reminder, those of you who have larger than factory tires and didn't adjust your gearing or speedo gear, your odometer will not read correctly and therefor your MPG calculations won't be right.

7.5 mpg , no matter the speed or how I'm driving , empty or towing. 400 sbc , th350 , full time 203 d60 , ff14 with spool 4.10 gears with 35's sitting on 4 inch lift.

I dont keep accurate records on mpg,but I put about 12 gallons of diesel in my K2500's tank a few weeks back and went over 150 miles since, and its now around 1/8th of a tank..

I would guess it gets at best 18 mph, probably less..with the thing weighing 6200 lbs empty and the engine being only 140 hp (or less,if its showing its age),you have your foot in it all the time trying to accellerate and keep up with traffic, and stog & go city driving sucks a lot more fuel down than if you could cruise steadily at 40-50 mph with it..my truck feels like it has tall gearing and the 265/75/16's also bog it down some too,the TH400 isn't the best for mpg either really..

I dont beleive the guys bragging about the 6.2's getting into the 20-25 mpg range, they must live on a downhill slope or have strong tail winds all the time or something..maybe the 1/2 ton 2wd ones with overdrive trannies might, but I doubt its consistent..

I just assume have a 250 straight six,it gets about the same mpg, starts in winter easily, and is a lot easier to work on,plus gas is 40+ cents cheaper a gallon since I started using my truck as my only road vehicle (figures, dont it?)..

Best guess is 10-12mpg

Worn out 305 (155k miles). 700r , 33", 2" lift, 4:10 gears.

On the highway, I turn 1900rpm at 65mph.

10. Occasionally 11-12 though. And that is adjusted by a factor of GPS/odo.

350tbi, 35 bfg ats, 700r4, 4.10s, 4" lift.

80 miles 10 gallons 8MPG To work and back mostly highway. Around town my guess 6. My foots always in it. 4:10's TB350 35's mild 355 Quadrajet

My 97 ranger 4 cylinder 5 speed with 315k gets 22-23, when newer it got 24 at best.

Mines not a daily driver, mpg with these trucks is a fact we deal with.

I get roughly 7-8 mpg. Pretty close to 50/50 highway/city. 89k5 blazer 350 tbi, 4" lift on 38's, 700r4, 5.38's...Don't have a tach at the moment, so no clue on rpm.

11.5 was my last calculation with Google maps for miles driven. All highway. Fully loaded, ever square inch with camping stuff.

400/700/4.88/38s/FAST EFI

Wow, ok I don't feel so bad now. Seems if I had OD I might be able to squeeze a couple more outta her. Thanks guys.

I ran a 350tbi/700r4/4.10's/37s.
Got 8 mpg.

I should add, Foot in it, ALWAYS floored. :D

87 burb with 33's, 4.10's, tbi 350, 700r, ff rear, stock height with one ton leafs, averaged 12-13 this weekend for duck opener, near 90% highway. Typically am in the double digits around town, 10-11. Will change once the cummins is lined up and ready to go. . .
