Lets see some pics of your restored or "being" restored chevy.

Locking gas cap is inoperable so to load and move it I needed to supply gas that way. Any advice on getting a locking gas cap off with the key tumbler totally ruined?
 
Maybe a couple of these links will help

You might look to see if the filler tube connects to a rubber coupler hose somewhere before the tank/ Then you can remove the spout and work on it on the bench.
Remember gas vapors are highly flammable so be careful.

What grille did you use? That one looks wicked!

It's a regular old 75/76 GMC grille that I painted black. It's hard to find them, but they are the only way to go on a 75 Jimmy.
