Lets see those C/K30's....

Damn, it does look like alot of work went into that paint job. Don't know about that yellar:D, but it still looks good. I don't know if I could take a truck that nice looking out on the trails. Afterwards it'd probably make me feel like I just woke up in bed with my best friends sister:doah::D All kidding aside it is a very nice truck though

What's your best friend's sister like? Might make me smile like hell when I drove that truck...

sister is hot, but brother is severely overprotective. It'd make me smile too driving his truck but I don't think I'd feel right taking it off road and possibly messing up a super nice truck like that. Hence, my comparison:D

funny you mention that, this is actually the first time this has really been "offroad" this is a fire road, the perfect play ground for a huge truck like this... smooth road , free of big rocks, trees, and roots etc, but plenty of snow to make it fun!!!:D

I hear ya. Maybe one day I'll get to play in snow like that. I'll have to go up a few states to see that much

They don't salt in CO, atleast here on the front range, They use magnesium chloride... Like I originally said, this truck spent it's whole life getting used, in the snow, out here in the west ( near SLC Utah), and has one rust bubble the size of a quarter!:wink1: Snow/ Sand bashing is my favorite!

Magnesium chloride is a form of "road salt". Keep it clean.

They do that here, "oh, we only use xxx chloride here, it's not why your car is rusting to pieces faster than you can pay it off."

my new one tomorrow!!

I sold my red one so I bought one quite a bit cheaper that I won't be so picky about. 84 K3500 454/400/205/60/14...standard. 6" lift new 35s.

When the 6.0 came around... which is dumb IMO... the 6.0 is a dog. My boss has one in a 2500hd and it was huffin' and puffin' to pull their 5th wheel trailer up some hills...

they made the 8.1 all the way up till the 07 came out, i remember looking at a 06 with a 8.1 in it. and the 6.0 aint to bad i have an 05 crew cab 2500hd with the 6.0 and 4.10's and it pulls my blazer up the mountains with no problem and when its unloaded it still gets about 15-16mph on the highway. now when i load down the gooseneck cattle trailer.......well thats a different story. still pulls just not as well. but with the blazer on it, it zooms up the mountain

We're getting off topic here but I almost think there's something wrong because he gets a very consistent 13-14... nowhere near 15-16...

is he running stock height tires? i went up to 265's and picked up a little on the highway. figured i would have lost a little because i cranked the torsion bars up.

I'm calling total crap on this thread, the 6.0 with 285's and 4.10 gears never managed over 12.5 mpg, I checked it, and checked it, used the gps, rechecked it, I never ever saw 13mpg while on 285 tires. Averaged 10-12

the 6.0 is no slouch towing a 5k blazer on a trailer, maybe 7k after tolls and misc..I could pull some grades with authority. It did everything my 454 3/4 ton burb could do. The same truck, but on 38's still with 4.10 gears had no problem pulling my buggy on a back hoe trailer and some grades as well.

The gas mileage dropped like a rock while towing, but i never felt it lacked enough power or was dogging it.

cant eight to be geared correctly and add a supercharger:D

also has to do a lot with your location. unloaded i can get 15-16 all highway doing 65. loaded i get around 10-12. im in colorado so im thinking thinner air means that the computer backs off the fuel, i dont have as much power, but when cruising why do i need a lot of power. i did notice when i was i oklahoma i had more power less fuel. but like avery said we are getting way off subject this is for 1 tons if this needs to be discussed we should start another thread.
