Lets see those C/K30's....

Just bought this 86 Scottsdale K30 6.2 diesel, 4sp manual, really strange has all the factory options except cruise and silverado pkg. ++service body is for sale!!!

Does it run as nice as it looks? What gearing does it have? I've been wondering how well the 6.2/4 speed combo works.

It actually runs really good, it has had a new goodwrench 6.2 at some point but not sure of miles. Haven't driven it much I will let you know on the 6.2/4sp.

Picked this one up today. It's an '82 Silverado with a 6.2 and a 4 speed. The engines bad, so I'm trying to decide if I should go back with another 6.2 or maybe put in a big block.

I know where there is a nice 89 V3500 crew dually 4x4,new th400,new D70HD with posi 40K on TBI350,utility bed,ect.
Know where there's a 85 K30 6.2/th400/205 too.
Anyone is interested I'd work something out with them :)

Yup, was the standard transmission offering for the 3/4 tons and the 1 tons. The 6.2 does really well with the manual tranny behind it. Gets a little more of the power it makes to the ground...

Here is my new CC I picked up a few weeks ago

I've been keeping an eye on CL for a 1 ton tow rig in either 2wd or 4wd in a chevy crewcab flavor . I found one up in the Couv and made the guy an offer of $1700 cash and drove it home . Needs some new tires but with 98k original showing on the clock and a rebuilt 454 I couldn't go wrong . It's a 81 1 ton duelly 4x4 , 454/t400-np205 , d60 front and rear d70 4:10 gears . Has gooseneck 5th wheel hitch in back interior needs some help and I'm gonna gut it and redo it because the guy was a smoker and it stinks inside

. I have a 6" lift kit laying around here and it does need new tires

. My burb was not gonna cut it as a part time tow rig so I scrapped that idea and besides I can now wheel the burb and not give a **** if I hurt it

Picked up a '01 GMC 3500 and threw a topper on the '90 3+3(not sure if I like how it looks).

8.1L on the new tow rig?

Yep, torquey mutha :D It gets about the same mileage as the CC but I knew that when I bought it. It was a really good deal so I figure the money I saved will pay for gas. I had looked at getting a 3/4 'burb with the 8.1 but kind of wanted to get the Allison too.

Here's some K30 trucks I've owned in the past year:

1981 K30 Dually Crew Cab... bought it for $1500, drove it 2 months, traded it for a Toyota FJ55 Landcruiser on 36" swampers with a small block running and driving, a Generator/Welder setup fully functional and I also got $400 cash. Then I sold the 36" tires, 1/2 ton axles, and stock 350 motor out of the Landcruiser and got $1200 and kept the FJ55 body/frame, with TH350/205, still set up for a small block, and turned around and bought the Dually back for $1000 from the same guy, drove it 3 more months till the body was about to fall apart, then sold the motor, tranny, rear end, etc... and came out overall from this deal with a $785 profit and I kept the Landcruiser body, Welder Generator, Dana 60, and NP205 (400 version) for free.

And I know it doesnt count to have 1-ton axles swapped under as a true K30... but what about when you use a K30 frame, Dana 60 and 14-bolt under a C10 body?

Or an original 1978 C20 that was converted to a K20, and then put onto a '79 K30 frame with a 60 and 14 bolt?

And my brown '85 K30 project is still under progress, getting a SB400, NV4500, Np205, shown here with my '81 Crew Cab waiting to get a Cummins motor, NV4500/205, and a '90 nose clip and doors.

The "Big Crew Cab" project wont really be a "K30" anymore cause it's getting 2.5 Ton Rockwells.

Ive been hiding. nahhh... just been busy and too cheap to renew my membership, and occupied with a little bit of everything. So my online time has been pretty full and rarely get a chance to be on here. Figured I'd have to stop in though.

Holy smokes... a 12v with a 10 speed...
It's in your neck of the woods, go check it out and get some pics!
