I have a 88 1 ton'd suburban with DIY4x shackle flip and linked shackles from them with a zero rate in the back. 6" lift springs in the front. The truck rides like a bucking bronco, so I'm considering swapping in a later model 63" leaf spring setup like out of my 05 suburban that rides great in back unloaded and towing. I flipped through probably 20 threads on here in the search but didn't see a definitive swap thread with pictures. I have 56" rear springs right now and the previous owner towed a camper so the rear pack is 8 leaves right now. The truck when bouncing on the rear bumper doesn't move more than an inch, when towing my boat the tongue load doesn't move the truck at all. It rides nice with a sbc in the back, but that's about it. So I'm looking to see if all it takes is relocating the front spring mounts a few inches forward and let the rear shackle move back a few inches(its almost straight up and down loaded right now). Is there a thread with pictures that 'll clear this up, or does anyone have some?

I'm assuming this is a much better option than just yanking out 2 or 3 leaves out of the pack I have right now...?

I just did some 63s on my burb and didn't document anything. Took a few pictures but that's it.

I pretty much moved the front hangers where my shackle angle was where I wanted it.

Required moving a body support bracket, and I welded my hangers is place, but others bolt theirs in.

I would just pull a leaf or two and or replace then with thinner ones.

If you search my name I have posted pictures of mine. Its pretty self explanatory though. The mounts at the frame should be 59.75" apart with a 6" shackle to get the most optimal shackle angle for travel.

Ya I saw your thread as well, I just come from a racing background and can feel when a rear end isn't centered perfectly perpendicular to the frame and drives dog legged. I know with leaf springs it'll never be 100% exact, anyone had issues when getting an alignment?
