No back seat in my truck since I pulled the camper, and the front buckets are about shot. Fixing to get some new seats and have a cage built and get seats and belts all mounted to the cage.
First priority is rear seat with decent belts for the kids. Currently 5 of us counting the Mrs. My lil ones aren't all that big yet, and I need to be able to seat 3 in the rear. Unless somebody has a better idea, I'm going to order a 48" prp bench from rock buggy supply with 2 fixed headrests. Need the widest seat I can get, plus I want the headrests for the bigger kids. Its slotted for harnesses. Can I run 2 3 point seatbelts and a lap belt on that thing, or do I need harnesses. If I run harnesses, how big a deal is it to get kids buckled in them?
Front buckets. Looking at a couple of premier high backs. BUT, I've got a nice bucket that came out of 1999 International 9400 in my shop. Lots of padding, adjustable armrests, about a 33" high rear. I've looked and I can take 4 bolts out and it will come of the pedestal. Will have a nice flat, easily mountable base. Won't be airride, but I will still have all the other seat adjustments, lumbar, slider and the "float" swing. I think it'd be a nice seat and I can prob find a match at one of the local truck salvage yards for prob not a whole lot. It's blue, which doesn't match my camo, so I'd prob need some cheap covers or get it reupholstered.
Question is, what makes a seat a suspension seat? When I think suspension I'm think truck air seats.
Also, what's a good fabric? PRP offers tweed, pleather, vinyl, velour, and cordura. I'm leaning towards the cordura because its water resistant and durable, but prob not the most comfortable. Tweed would be nice, but not sure how it would hold up.
