I've read alot of great stuff on this site. What Im lookin for is a bit of help/ideas on the lift in my V30 crewcab. I would like to get 6in from a lift, I want to do a shackle flip in the rear do I need to put any blocks or is there a spring convertion I could do to give me all 6in w/o blocks. I do not want to loose my towing capacity so help here would be great. In the front Im completly up in the air on what to do. This is not a trail rig it is my derby car racecar hauler/hunting truck it does get used but no trails. Thanks for the help in the past to everyone Shoe81.

You can get a 6 inch shackle flip if I'm not mistaken. Or use a longer spring.

The most you'll get from an off the shelf shackle flip is 4". If you don't want to use a block you might consider aftermarket lift springs.

I had a 6" lift on my 91 crew cab running 35's, I used a Rough Country kit and sub'd my own 6" blocks in the rear (I wanted to keep the factory springs w/ overloads).

get 6" springs for the front. for the rear, you could do a 4" spring in the rear and a 2" block to match. opinion varies, but i wouldn't do a shackle flip unless you don't tow very much at all.

I could swear I saw a 6 inch flip somewhere LOL. What an a flip and a 56 inch spring? That should be close to 6

1 ton's already come with 56" springs. you could have longer shackles and get closer to 6" lift too.

What does everybody think about this? I shouldnt tow with a shackle flip???

Yea I have heard that. I don't have a flip so I don't know but if you need to tow you might wanna look into springs

I have seen stability argued when using a flip and towing heavy loads. I guess it really depends on what you'll be doing with the truck.

I was thinking of doing the same as you. 6" springs up front and shackle flip in the rear. I spoke with someone @ ORD about hauling with a shackle flip and they said it would be no problem as long as it wasn't a daily hauler. I just figured I would try it and if I didn't like it I could add air bags or swap out for springs.

I used 6" Tuff Country springs front and rear on my 90 V30 and it still tows quite well. I use it to tow my toy hauler.
I know this is a les schawb lift but could you give me a part number. My les cant find an all spring lift front and rear just blocks/add a leaf

First thing is do not tell them you are putting it on a one ton. Tell them you want a lift for a 3/4 ton with 56" rear springs. The front springs are part #18670 and the rears are #19671. You will also need a 1.5" to 2" to block to put in the rear to make for the difference in the thickness of the spring packs. The stock pack is alot thicker than the lifted pack.

Newby question here - I appologize for how ignorant this will sound, but oh well. I have an '88 1 Ton Crew Cab SRW 4x4 (my dream truck) and I'd like to run 35s with a 4" lift. Either I'm on crack or I don't seem to see front springs specifically for 1 Tons? Can that be? Are all GM truck front lift springs the same?
I'm really enjoying this site, what a resource you guys are.
Thanks for enduring my question.
Dave

All the front springs are the same unless they're custom. :thumb:
