lifting advice

The right way to do a 12" lift:
12" front springs
8" rear springs, 2.5" shackle flip, 6" shackle

What about the 4" front with 52"springs?

Where does ORD get 8" 56" springs?

B-52 kit (diy4x) ez inches, (diy4x) 6" lift rear springs (52"), longer shackles, thats for the front. Should be right around 12

For the rear I would say a shackle flip kit and 8" springs.

then a 3" body lift,

Or you could get 8" 52s for the front but that would get you around 14 with all the stuff listed above.

Where are these 8" lift 56" springs?

I have never seen any if you run a full replacement spring in the superlift swamprunner kit you have to relocate the shackle that's why I said 52s, I know you can get those

You need to find a Dana 60 front. Only choice here.

Your half ton axles will barely hold up to street driving with 44s

Don't you think that's giving them a bit too much credit? Lol

I think you should check out the build threads for the more serious trail rigs around here. It is not just coincidence that 95% of the people here running 37"+ tires are running almost identical trucks.

Engine support
Frame support at steering box if full hydro is not used
Crossover if not full hydro
Rears up front
Shackle flip
60front w/ 35 spline stubs
14 bolt rear
203/205, 205, atlas for those bling guys :)

Hell if you look through the calendar, about the only difference is the gear ratios and tire mold lol

im kinda wondering how the driveshafts are going to work with that much lift. my rear shaft in my k5 is only 38" long (2" longer wheelbase) and i had to use a modded 1350cv to have a vibration free drive. adding 5" more lift is goin to put a cv shaft at or close to its max operating angle at ride height.

a t400 just makes that worse, since its the long. 2 3/4" longer than a t350. thats why i kept the t350 in my truck.

it wont matter what 14 bolt he gets, because he is going to have to cut the mounts off to turn the pinion up for a c.v. shaft.

dont even get me started on front shafts.... thats why when i see a truck with a ton of lift, i check for a front d-shaft. i think 1 in maybe 10 has one. maybe he could clock the t-case down for some help. but a d60 front is just making stuff worse with the longer pinion.

Don't waste your breath lol. Theres a reason that you never see a 12" lift on the trail.

i have seen a 12" lift on the trail. 39" boggers, 1/2 ton axles and all. it did great till.....what happened? oh yeah i remember. it broke.

flame suit zipped....i will be running 44's...already have them..& a 85 swb k10 fi'd 454/465/205/60f/14ff/12'' swamprunner f&r springs/rear diy4x 4'' shackle flip 5'' custom shaclkes..already have everything & its getting warm so look out for the build thread...flip is installed...or do i want to put it all ont the cc..hmmm

i know a lot a guys with big lifts used to cut and turn the knuckles so they could turn the pinion up and keep the steering geometry...don't hear much about it any more sense big lifts are out of fashon now. I still think they look cool tho :D

Surely someone will chme in and say 12" is unsafe and you'll kill yourself and everyone within a 10 mile radius. :rotfl:

:eek1: I'm probably within that radius!!!!!!:D

First question......What are you planning on doing with this truck?...Mud or Mall? (This Delaware were talking about..Not a rock in the whole state.:D)2nd.....How much money do you have to spend?..3rd....Do you have another vehicle to drive? (This is Delaware were talking about...Good luck getting it tagged.)

plan on mostly mud and i have another vehicle
You sure don't say much do you.:dunno:
Is any of this info getting through? Are you looking for these parts? Do you have the scent of 1 ton axles, cause if you don't, you don't have a leg to stand on and any more thinking about 40's should wait till those tons are under your truck.

Also, if you're not willing to put time into a decent reply, or some kind of punctuation, it's hard for assholes like me to come up with info for YOU. :waytogo:

But I'm just being a dick:whistle: cause I want to see pictures of something. All this 12" lift talk and there are no pictures :D. And "justin" needs to post of picture of his Blazer. :thumb:
