Line output converter

I used basically that same thing in a 94 Camaro that my buddy had, they work well, although an aftermarket stereo is obviously going to be less stuff behind the dash.

Left Rear Speaker (+/-)=brown - yellow or brown/white - brown
Right Rear Speaker (+/-)=dk. blue - lt. blue or dk. blue - tan

The reason I chose the more expensive route is so it's plug and play and wouldn't need any splicing or tapping into existing factory wiring.

But I'm all ears for other options.

Yea the plug and play is nice. I install either the ones I pointed out or powered converters which will convert the signal to 10volts.

The pac piece is going to sound better then then a high to low converter.. and yes its just un plug your radio, plug that into the pac harness n plug the pac harness into your radio... Id recommend buying a new radio though...

This might be a goofy question but I don't know.

When using this and hooking up 4 speakers could I tap off one of the lines and add a 1 channel output converter for a sub? If I did that wouldn't the sub be playing the same stuff as my other 4 speakers?

I should just dish out the 500 and be done with this confusing converter. :haha:

Let me see what I can do for a good price for you when I get to work tomorrow. Ill look up some of the double dins we have and see what i can sell them for

You don't have a dedicated sub output on that converter, so just daisy chain the sub amp with whatever other amp you have. Then, set your sub amp crossover properly to isolate the sub's frequency response to the sub.

Why not really complicate things and get an OEM integration unit like the Rockford Fosgate 360, JL Audio Cleansweep, Alpine Imprint, etc. :D

This way you could actually use all the channels from your factory head unit and have true front/rear/sub output controls. Not only that but you can do a lot with their software via bluetooth devices, Palm handhelds, etc.

:doah: You just had to do it... LOL I think I will go with the above lineout converter for the time being until I can set aside the needed money for a replacement head unit.
