Ive got a drag link I need to make for a customer. Hes got a 79 bronco with a 91 ford dana 60 in it. Stock steering box, stock pitman arm and the axle has the stock drag link on it. Im not very educated on ford stuff did they use different size tapers for 1/2 ton vs 3/4 and 1 ton steering? Trying to figure out if I can just order the typical chevy 1 ton short ends and bungs or not. Dont have the truck in the shop just trying to get ahead on ordering some stuff.

Or is there a good source out there for what size was what for TREs?

I put 2005 front axle in a 96 and I used the ruffstuff tapered insert without issue. That kind of reverse tells me it's the same.

Yeah Im strongly considering that or buying a reamer. My research basically found that ford was all over the place with TRE sizes. The older stuff is close in size to GM TREs but that newer draglink is probably drastically smaller.

Call WFO and see what they think. They are insanely well versed in steering options on many different axle types and steering setups.
