Lock strip-less windshield gasket. Should i use it? And how do i instal it?

Just got my new windshield for the burb. The Gasket it came with is the time that doesnt have a lock strip. My old one had a lock strip. Is one type better than the other? Should i return this one for a lock strip style? If i should keep this one how the eff do i put it in? Rope method?

My instinct is telling me i should try and return it for the original lock strip style.

ya just use soap and a cotter key puller or hose puller hook to close under the lock edge..

if you use the lock strip style YOU WILL NEED THE PROPER TOOL for the lock strip.. lisle makes it.... doing it with a flatblade is ghey...

What would you recommend? Lock strip style, or non lock strip style? I have the tool for the lockstrip already.

yeah, that'd work.. the lock strip style definitely goes faster.. the tuck under will be a bit more painstaking... i prefer the lock strip style, just for ease of install, but I've used both.. the old Mack trucks I used to do had the tuck-in style ones...

Yea im just going to try and return this one and get the lock strip style like i had in it before.

lock strip / zip strip for the win

did a back window 1 time non strip style what a P.I.T.A . a lot longer and much more care was needed.

cheepo squirt bottle and 3-4 table spoons of basic old blue dawn dish soap fill with water. shake up and go to town . its basicly what the window guys all use.
