I was having the same debate with my buddies on the way back from WERock. I am finally swapping in my D60, and cannot decide what locker to use. It will be driven on the street for the occassional cruise, but mainly a trailrig. I will be running xover and histeer, but no hydro. What do ya'll think? Already order the detroit for the rear.

I have never had a front locker, but I am welded now and twin sticked 205, 10 bolt 14 bolt FF rear with detroit.

With welded I can be rear wheel only, 4 wheel, or 3 wheel by unlocking the hub, usually the short shaft side.

I do have hydro assist though and upgraded shafts, but no probs yet. but then I 'm not hardcore either.

37" Krawlers also

A front locker on a DD w/ 33's is a waste, IMO. Especially if we're talking AT's. Once you lock it, you're not going to be able to use 4WD at speed during poor road conditions, etc.

I'd wait and spring for a winch, which could be transferred to a more radical trail rig once it's built.

If you're running 35" MT's and are getting stuck, then perhaps a front locker would help.

A Truetrac would be my choice of those listed. I would avoid the Auburn.

If you're building a trail rig, I'd spend my money on the build. In that situation, in a 10b/D44 I'd do a lockrite/ no-slip type locker.

In a 60, I'd spring for the Detroit for tires larger than 38's. And twin stick the T/C if possible for those times I needed to turn tight.

Thats what i ended up doing...the rear locker is plenty to go farther than everybody else i wheel with.

Im hoping to twin stick the 205 in the play truck once it gets thatfar. Prolly a detroit in the 14 and leave the 44open for now.

I think I have my mind set on an Ox. I will be running 39.5's, and have no plans on twin sticks for the 241. I will be getting cuttin brakes though.

how about an auburn limited slip.....from what i understand if a front wheel comes off the ground it sends power to the tire with traction

is this correct....if not, which locker does this....

plus if u run a limited slip it should slip before breaking an axle or u-joint

+1
i have auburns front and rear (10bolts) and i drove my truck all through high school. tackled all of URE with no problems. lockers give you a 50/50 split power to your wheels. a posi will give you something like a 70/30 (experts please correct me if im wrong). if your blazer is your DD and you arent gonna wheel much, stick with a posi

I have a Powertrax No Slip locker in the front. Before that I had a lockrite. Both work good. Really havent broke anything other than the pins in the lockrite. U joints wear faster tho.
I like the No Slip better than the Lockrite. Its quieter and is not as harsh as the lockrite was. I am running 10Bs and 33" tires. Locked front and rear.
thats what i have...i used it in my backyard for the first time today so i have no opinion on it other than its hard to steer with stock steering...

What do you guys think about me upgrading to new chrome moly front axle shafts and new u-joints. and installing a Detroit and 4.56s and a Lincoln locker in the rear 14Bff

i think you weak point will either be the pinion (depending on the gear) or the hubs...remeber you wanna keep the weekest point clostest to the tire if possible or has a weak point..

This isn't Pirate, so lighten up.

Hey man, me and Blazer are friends, so if I want to call him a retard I will. I understand where you are coming from. I am sure you did not know that we are friends.
