I also deal in the disposal of scrap, that how i got it :D

Looks just like the rearend in my 95 1 ton w/locking diff. these don't look like your typical gov-lock as in a 1/2 ton 10 bolt!!!

I'm not sure what you're saying. Are you saying the "locking diff" that came in your 95's 14 bolt is not like a 10 bolt, because the 10 bolt used a gov-lock?

So how can I tell if it's a Detroit or not?
Is thier any kind of markings?

It has 4 cross pin holes, and you can slightly make out the detroit internals inside the carrier. :thumb:

The 10 bolt governor and ratchet pawl are visible as you look at the carrier!
The 14 bolt FF is a two piece design carrier, the governor mechanism and ratchet are only visible if the two halves are separated. The holes around the outside diameter of the carrier are for the cross pin, there are 3 spider gears that ride on this pin, the open differential has 4. The carrier in my 1 ton has 3 holes around the diameter of the carrier therefore it is essentially a Gov-lock
14 bolt!!!! Upon looking at the pictures again, this looks to be an open carrier
because of the 4 pin holes! I have an exploded view of this carrier if you would like to see it!!!

No thanks, I didn't have any trouble identifying this carrier/locker. But thanks anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing that exploded view. Curiousity....

It is an open differential. You can tell because it has four pins. If it was a posi, it would have three pins. Thats the bad news, the good news is that only open diffs can have lockers installed. The carrier looks good and you can always add the Detoit later.

sorry, I was wrong. I checked further and it is a locker, you can tell by the ring gear side with the bulge. Earlier post was right, you can see some of the internals.
