locker question

i just got my first k5 and i was wanting to know if all 10 bolts are the same? ex.. will the locker out of a 94 10 bolt work in my 86 k5 10 bolt? in the rear or the front? just looking for a little advise.

Nope. After '87 or '88, the 10bolts were 30-spline axle shafts. Before that they are 28-spline.

So the 94 should be 30-spline and your 86 28-spline.

89 officially is the cut off date , but its not set in stone as to whether they finished the 28 splines off on the assembly line in early 89 or not .

what if i used the axles out of the 94 axles out of the 94 and put them in my 86 housing will the locker work then? see the reason for this is that the 94 axle has 4:56 gears abd my blazer has 3:73. but i want the blazer to be locked. is there any help?
