I have locking hubs and want to know if I can leave them locked for the winter and drive my blazer in 2wd and if I need to I can just shift into 4wd or do I need to lock them only if I am going to be in 4wd?
You stil have to have it in neutral right??big83chevy4x4 said:you can leave them locked, i do in the winter. with a 208 or 241 you can shift in 4wd while moving as long as the hubs are locked.
id just unlock the hubs if you were going on a long trip or on the highway.

Don't even have to do that. I would blast down sand washes in 2WD and as soon as the rear end would start to slide out I'd reach down pull it into 4Hi and it would straighten right up. All in a matter of second and still under power.MTBLAZER89 said:Just let off the gas and pull the handle back. Prolly wont go in with your foot on it cause everything is under load.![]()
