Lokar pics

another question. I don`t have the removable hump...how hard is that going to make the installation?

Here's pic's in park and 1st gear with trans hump on.

Also, in the last group of pic's you might notice that the linkage is real short. I am getting some binding, what would you (anyone) do to fix the problem?

My biggest problem was my fat fingers:doah:.

It was 20* out when I installed it. I never had to leave the passenger seat (except when I dropped a part). So, yes, one of the easiest installs I've ever done. One thing I don't like is the use of allen head bolts. I would have found it even easier with hex head bolts so I could thread the bolts by hand to get them started.

All of the supplied bolts are allen head. I could have gotten some hex, but I'm lazy and broke so I used what they gave me.

What had allen heads ? What needed them and could I just go match them up with some hex head bolts?

just about every fastener is allen head. you would need to buy a dozen bolts of varying sizes. it's easier to just use what come with the kit.

as for the binding. change the position of the arm coming off the driver side of the shifter. it's splined. turn it one spline counterclockwise and adjust the linkage. keep doing that till there is no binding.

look at my pics. they are all in park. you will see how far back that arm is. your is vertical in park. as you get into the lower gears the arm is not going forward anymore but swinging in an arc.

Sorry I didn't have it in my lap to look at it:surepal:. I'll try that tomorrow.

i wasn't giving you a hard time. the roll eyes was for the allen head part since chris blazer wants to replace them all.:D

there are 3 different sizes used. 2 of them are sizes that I have on a ratchet drive. the really small size is for the set screws. I personally think allen heads are a cleaner look. remember these shifters are designed for hot rods not muddy trucks.

Well, I just came back in from doing some adjustments. It has made an improvment so far. I'll get back to it later when the sun has come back up.

It is nice with no tint, the sun warms the inside like a solarium(sp):D.

I just re-read the instructions. I didn't understand the lever adjustment at first, now I understand.

Mine was bolted and glued. I unbolted it and slowly pried the rest up. In my pics you can see the red glue/sealer used.
