Lokar pics

those with the Lokar, what are you doing for a back up light?

I just picked up my 23" nostalgia today:D

I'm going to use the switch on the side for the back-up lights and not for the nutraul safty switch.

I wired mine off a lighted switch on the dash. 2 reasons. reason one being thats the legal way to do it in pa if it's not activated by the shifter. reason two being then you can run your backups on the trail at night even when you are going forward.

now I have nothing hooked up, but the truck is trail only.

hey i was wondering if the pickups had the removeable tranny hump liek the blazers do? would i be able to install it with just the metal removed form when my truck was a standard?

tom ford

mine's a truck and has the removable hump. they should all have it, including the sub's.

Well, I picked mine up last night, and it looks as though I may be returning it. It is most likely going to be a little too long for my liking...I figured it was going to one of those "won`t know until you try it" things....if anyone wants to give me $250 shipped, it`s theirs...its for the 700, with the 700 pattern on the knob button....

Maybe you should do a mock up first, I thought mine was going to be too short but it turned out to just the right size.

Theres a sig. line for ya.

See, thats the problem....

I bought the 23" nostalgia one, which is 7" shorter than the one you got....

keep in mind that most of the assembly sits below the floor. if you are holding the shifter in place to see where its sits, it will be several inches lower then that.

Yea, I took that into account, using the pictures I have seen of them installed....

so install it. tall shifters are cool. you don't want to have to lean over to shift in an emergency situtation. I don't understand the guys that run real short cable shifters mounted to the floor.

I want to shift from a driving position. not lean to the right.

Well, its not just the height...the overal positioning of it as well....

I will instead be going with a cable style shifter mounted on a custom column...similar to ryokens set up....

So you wanna sell me ur lokar?

Man this place is cool. I've thought about the Lokar for my sub for a while now. I figured it wouldnt work because the 208 shifter would have been in the way. Now that I know it wont. Got me a new project. :D
