anyone got good budget minded long slip front drive shaft idea's ?

front is 4" tuff country springs / zero rates and moved 1.5" forward dana 60 1310 joint yoke . plan to swap in FORD shock towers . right now on the 2 post lift it is about pulling out the stock GM slip yoke combo with no shocks hooked up and the dana 60 weight with 37" radial tires . so i am almost sure it will be popping it once off road flexing .

what do you guys with FORD towers and flexy combos see in front shaft flex yoke area's . stock 3" slip or go 7" y2k100 / y2k200 combo . ?

still want a c/v head . no square tube .

thinking this kind of combo or close to it .

option #1 :
flange from n.w.f they offer for 30 spline . http://www.northwestfab.com/13001400-Series-30-Spline-NP205-Billet-Flange-2-Pilot_p_3219.html
stock ford super duty shaft 99-15 f250-f350 front 1350c/v unit .
then long spline kit to fit the super duty shaft https://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p1...d_shaft_1.625_10_splines_for_long_travel.html

option #2 :
also could go this route with the y2k100 and y2k200 parts for 7" travel and fit stock gm shaft for a good combo of upgrade and budget . http://driveshaftsuperstore.com/Drive_shaft_long_slip_yoke_and_spline.htm

I have a y2k100/200 combo on my current front shaft.

Y2k100 and 200 are part numbers. I can’t get a link to work

well here is the story on what i have tried so far before big money on slip yoke kit listed above with Y2K parts .

superlift part# 4310 1" thick spacer kit with bolts

the part arrived for about 60 bucks off a ebay seller . everything looked good nice grd-8 bolts and thick flat washers most people say they swap for lock washers . i went to install it and the driveshaft C/V head side was machined to small and had slop and would not hub center very good at all . so i measured and found there was 3.117 ish on the female side to fit the t-case flange ( good fit ) and then the front male side was 3.09 ish ( bad fit ) and was real sloppy on the C/V head i know this was not the best fit and choice to run .

so i called superlift and talked with a tech guy and he went out and checked 5-6 of them at random from the pile they have in the shop and there all wrong . so the whole current run of these is junk and no lead time on a new batch . he said return it for a refund no problems .

so i took the unit to my buddy and had him whip me up a new correct version and i went and test fitted it today and she fits good and snug both sides . but the new problem showed up i was afraid of i would have to deal with . the C/V head is on its stops and will need to be ground out to help get a bit more droop from the C/V unit to let the shaft align up with the dana 60 yoke . but this was with the axle hanging on a 2 post lift in the shop . so i would hope in real world flexing it will not require even more grinding as to much it will pop the C/V head and be trashed .

so in short i think if you need to go this route its better to spend the cash up front and NOT do the spacer kit . just get the longer tube on the shaft or longer slip yoke kit .

few pics of the parts in this story and installed . last 2 pics are before spacer and after spacer . the spacer kept the splines just inside the yoke at full droop . but the spacer also played with the shaft to the point the joint wont hook up with out mods to the C/V head stops or other re-work .

so no spacer its 4.75" weld to tip of slip yoke seal area free hang test .
1" spacer its 3.75" weld to tip of slip yoke seal area free hang test .
1" spacer its 2.5" weld to tip of slip yoke seal area full weight on rig on ground .
bottom out of slip shortest possible is 3/4" weld to slip yoke seal area .

so i have 3" of solid travel area to play with and maybe a little extra on the ext side if careful .

does this sound good for you guys if i mod the C/V head stops a bit ?

Most guys with any flex or a tall lift and stock front C/V grind those stops out. Try to do it the same on all of them for the sake of balance, but it's not going to make much difference.

The advantage to the spacer is it moves the C/V forward an inch, which helps it clear the cross-member. If you have a ton of flex, you probably have to mod the cross-member anyway.
