BODY DAMAGE

Buy a welder, fix the 15in holes in my floor, alot of new paint, lots of fender trimming so my 36" can get all the way up in the wells (follwed by some sragically placed trim). Now i want to go with a 8 in lift so i can get bigger tires in there, but TC only goes up to 6". Should i go BDS 8", TC 6" w/ 2 in body lift, or my TC 4" with a 3in body lift. I also plan to buy a sawzall of my own so i can stop bothering my uncle. money dosent come easy when ur only 16. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif To do most of this work, i will be depending on a autobody class im taking and a buisness, whwere i will be selling computers. maby if i put a computer up for grabs on the forum i can get advertising on here. hell every one coming to this site needs one

I've learned not to make plans, that way I can never be disappointed. I just keep working until I get something done. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I do have a lift, 36's, and sm465 to put in, then a 400sb to rebuild, but who knows when that will ever get done.

1) Suburban: Find and fix wire thats disconnected so I can have headlights and park lights again. Do front brakes, inner axle seal, and put in a better radiator.

1.5) Blue Blazer: Finish SB400 (gaskets), cut out floor pan, put 465/205 in, install motor, have exhaust welded up to headers.

2) Little Crew Cab: Put intake and valve covers on motor, then install the motor. Weld up exhaust to headers and replace one section of exhaust pipe. Put better radiator in it while its out.

3) Orange Blazer: Pull motor out. Take SM465 tranny out of other truck, and put another motor and that tranny back into it. Weld up crack in header.

4) GMC: Pull motor out. Build better motor. Put better motor in. Swap in other axles with 4.56 gears and a Detroit in the rear. In the process, change out front leaf springs, new clutch, and a radiator. Install rear drop bumper.

5) Red Truck: Build 350 motor. Find a front axle and put that and the rear axle under bare frame. Put motor, tranny and T-case into cleaned and painted frame. Unbolt body, and swap onto the clean frame.

6) Utility Truck: Pull off front clip. Weld and reinforce frame. Pull out TH400 and have it rebuilt. Put a Dana 60 back under the front, and replace the front springs. Put rebuilt TH400 back in along with another 454 motor. Do rear brakes.

Then during/after winter come the Truck Blazer and the Big Crew Cab and the Camo Blazer.

6 months! HAHAHAHAAH thats short term for the most part /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif
I've been working on and repairing floors and body for over a year just to get to the lift part!

In the next 3 months I want to get my front mounts made, 52's up front installed, engine crossmember, get 5.13 axles under the frame, mount up my 35's to roll the frame around on, then start pulling the front clip off the project blazer, yank the motor and tranny, clean and flush both, reinstall in frame and start swapping the tub over to the new frame. By then it will be about fall so work will definatly slow down and it will hopefully be a ble to make a couple runs before the snow falls /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Install Caddy calipers on the rear and crossover steering. Thats about it cause I only have 6 months untill My first born comes along so the Blazer will be on the back burner for a while.

hmmm this is fun..

the 86 blazer..

this week I am finishing up the body work, need to yank a perfectly good new crate motor and I am installing the big block from the 75. That requires me to get some new headers cause a few rocks have grabed them. The interior is all new, converting to power doors or leaving it /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif. New windshiled after I paint it on friday and I need to find some new seats asap. Oh and mount the new billit grill and tail light assemblies and start on the front and rear tube bumpers. Then in a month or two I will get some new shoes and bling bling rims..oh and install the new interior and carpet after I paint it this weekend..lot to do in just a month or two /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

hmm the 75 /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

Well as I just blew up the chain on the 203 now is a great time to rip it apart and get rid of the chassis. Tonight I completly stipped it bare but for the drivetrain. Tommarow I will go get my fathers engin yanker and get the drivetrain out, then tow in to my friend davids and get rid of the tub and frame/cage and give it to him.. then swap my suspension and 1 tons on the 83 blazer I sold him, completly chop and trash the cab then stip the frame bare and have it home by this saterday or sunday.. then get itmedia blasted next week, then start on the boxing of it and get it down to the fab shop by early august so the tube chassis caan get started. "using the first 5 feet of frame"....then two weeks later start on the 4 link and get the coil overs and mount them...then keep going and going till she is done...

all of this by november or december /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

needeless to say I just left my day job so now I have all day to wrench, then work in the morning and take care of my accounts /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

life is great /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

Tommarow I am going to get a BIG shop fan to keep me cool, crank up the led zeplin and get grinding /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

swaping the front clip out as we speak, replacing inner fenders hood, keep old outers.
longterm: well...
ford shock towers
and then either finding another truck to swap all my perts on to /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif
or finding a halfway decent winter rig and parking the beast for the season.
basically my truck needs a frame and cab swap /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif pretty sad
"i've had the same axe for 20 years....it's had 2 heads and threee handlesz"

In the next 6 months? Hmmm... not much. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Frame swap (original bent)
Build & install 454
Install tranny/Doubler combo
Build & install front D60 / rear D70HD
Install 8" lift
Install DP_90K5 front & rear bumpers and sliders
Mount 42's on Hummer wheels

Paint would be nice
Spray liner for interior would be nice

/forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

fix my alignment problem with shims
fix my bad axle shaft u joint
New 39.5" Boggers
lift the rear by 2"
fix the frame behind the steering box right
replace the rear floor pan
take out the original carpet and either Herculiner the floor or just paint it
keep it running

Just getting it out of the body shop would be nice.

Thenn the new enigne can be dropped in.

/forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

Fred

get 14ff rebuilt and installe it
Reinstall A/C
New Steering Box (im leaking a 1/2 qt of fluid a week now)
Steering box brace

Here's what I'm hoping to accomplish:

*Either TBI or new Q-jet
*New (to me) D44&12bolt w/3.73's
*ORD HD front shackles
*All front bushings greasable
*Correct front bumper and re-install military d-rings with beefier tube

not much...
Insurance, registration, paint, new eagle eye lights (9 of them!!!), install my rear disc brake setup as I have all the parts... dont want to do it until after inspection....

[ QUOTE ]
My long term plan for my K5 is too let it sit in my driveway till I can afford more parts. I'm done halfassing things. It can sit till I have the parts to do it right.

[/ QUOTE ]

I totally agree with that... I have been working on my truck since 1997.. when I lifted it too high.. now I am doing everything right.. just look at my link in my sig and you can see that I have consistantly worked on my truck for the last few years...

upgrades:
bushwackers
new tires and rims
6" front leafs
new shocks
truck avenger
xover steering
tube bumpers
rollbar
detroit front and rear /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif
new ubolts all the way round
new brake lines all the way round
new front ujoints in axle shafts
new tie rod both sides
the list goes on.. once she is on the road.. I am going to take my time.. take 1 month to baby her around... let my new pistons break in, front gears and both detroits to break in, let all bolts settle and re-tighten.
Take the truck to the inspection station all perdy, painted, waxed, tires armour alled up... no mud under the truck and hopefully pass inspection... then ROMP THE FAGIZUS OUTTA IT!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

After rebuilding my entire floor and herculining the tub, the next step is exterior Heres is what i have planned yet

Replace wheel arcs, i have the parts, not the time
Prime entire exterior
Bright red paintjob
New front bumper, winch capabilities and two light positions, might be building that one myself
Two new differentials for the 10 bolts, getting for free, with detroit ez locker front and rear. See how long those will hold up.
Edelbrock intake manifold
replace rear main seal
Shorty style headers
New dash
And last and least important, get my back seat back in.

1.To get the altenator guy to fix the alt he built me so it will charge. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
2.Keep attempting to be able to drive my K5 daily but lately I have failed miserably because it won't quit having fits. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

3. Buy a another blazer.

Oil change and lube job
For the next 6 months my plans are to drive my Blazer.I would rather drive it than work on it.
Other than normal maint. I hope I dont have to lay a wrench on her.
