I saw a title like this in another forum, so I thought I'd ask everyone. In a timeframe of approx. 6 months... what do you want to have done to your rig, or plan to do? Body monds, new tires, etc. Here are my plans:
Take body off, completely take everything off, sand blast, por it, paint it. start putting misc things back on. paint drivetrain. find and buy d60/14bff. Buy HAD shafts front and rear. Paint axles black with por-15. buy a body lift and spring lift, install. buy doubler parts and finish it.
Thats about all for 6 months.. alot to do /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

What are YOUR plans? /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

My long term plan for my K5 is too let it sit in my driveway till I can afford more parts. I'm done halfassing things. It can sit till I have the parts to do it right.

I have to put on my ORD crossover steering. /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif New Cam and Lifters, and put in the Riccaro bucket seats /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif that i recently aquired. Prehaps cut some of the back of the bed off and start working on an external-internal roll cage. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I also have to finish the doors, or just take them off. Also the dash needs a new glove compartment/pocket made.

I have a little bit of work to do! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

hmm in 6 months? My rig should be together, thoroughly bashed and close to being sold, parted out, or donating its guts to a buggy project.

cv rear driveshaft
roll cage
round tube bumpers front and rear
mm12000 winch
paint
241 t-case with sye kit

Then it will be my dream truck but I think that would take a lot of money and time. Maybe one day.............................................. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Well since I put on the 33's I think I'll need to regear to 4.10's or 3.73 or something. So I'm looking right now for a 14b rear and a matching front gear set. Also I'd like to by a 4" lift and maybe bust on the roll on tremclad and paint right over the rust and say screw it.

AC re-installed
Electric Fans
Flip rear shackle and get rid of the blocks
Longer heaver front shackles
Make Rockslidders
Finish interior
smooth and paint shell
Have new soft top made
Powder coat bummpers, and rockslidders Black/clear

Near future(3 months):
Cage
build front bumper
rebuild winch
paint hard top

finish the current projects already underway:
rocksliders
rocklights
headlights
exhaust
fender trimming
wiring
paint various things (sliders, bumpers, etc)
etc.

Wheeling season should be kicking into gear again here in 3-4 months when it cools off. I will wheel it as much as possible between now and March. Then I will shut it down and get everything repaired so I can drive it to Colorado when I move in May.

Finsih the D60 install and regear the 14bff to 4.56 that is for the near-term.

The long term horizon include:

-Full 8-point cage
-Completely re-vamp the interior and stereo and Armorthane the entire inside
-Can-Back soft top
-Cowl induction hood
-MPFI for the 454
-Doubler to go behind the sm465
-High Angle drivlines
-WTO hydro

That ought to keep me busy for the next while, huh?

Chris

Finish the divorced t-case install
New exhaust using Flowmasters
Put on a fan shroud
Longer front shackles
Install 4 batteries from a semi truck
Ford solenoid for the starter
On board air
Install CD player
Disc brake rear and stainless lines front and rear

Long term is rebuild/repalce my transfercase as a precaution ( haven't had it die yet , but its original ) , redo interior , go to 4.10's , go to 35's , sliders fabbed , very minor trim , and bumpers fabbed . Oh and maybe respray the paint again when I don't have enough left to rub out ( real long term on that ) /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
