long story short 1 month ago I dropped my driveshafts to rebuild my 208. a month goes by I finally finish my TC and start bolting things up. I get to my rear driveshaft and it is now about 1 inch too short and wont bolt to the flange.

this driveshaft is a tom woods shaft that the PO installed. I have had my jimmy for about 3 years now and I swear the last time I had the rear shaft out that it would lengthen or shorten on splines by a couple of inches. Now I can not budge it either direction.

1. Does this look like a shaft that has the ability to travel longer or shorter

2. why would it just go shorter when I pulled the transfercase out but now I cant lengthen it.

3. Am I missing something else, I thought maybe I mixed up the front and rear flanges on the TC but they are the exact same size so It should not matter.

I have done everything short of hooking a come-a-long to one end and that is next

Looks to me like it would extend.Maybe it's just the seal in the splined area try taking the grease fitting out,and then extending it.

Just give a tap on the yoke in the forward direction and it should move. If not then try the grease trick like someone already said. If that doesn't work then plan on spending some money on it.

Also if that's your rear shaft then someone installed a SYE kit on your NP208.
