Look what I found on my doorstep

Yeah I have a 8A milwakee HD drill.......but it scares me.
I also have 3 batteries and 2 chargers for the Dewalt XRP, so I will be back in action soon.

Well the hole is done. I might weld it tonight. Not sure yet?
Then I found out I need to do a litle more finish grinding where the cover is welded to the ring. It is such a close fit that some if hte bolts will not ride flat. Easy fix though.

Do you plan on installing it before we get the rest of the hydro crap together? If so I can pring and hammorite it before I bring it down.

Nope no rush. I do not see the point to put it on yet as it would be easier to put the cover on, fit up the cylinder and tack the tabs then remove the cover and finish weld the tabs. I just think it would be easier to weld with the cover flat rather than on the truck eh. :)

One thing I just thought about and maybe you did earlier but we will need to get new bolts for the cover due to the thickness of the flange. I was thinking of allen head screws either button or regular. Get the black anodized ones so they would be anti-blinging.

Yeah I though about that earlier, but did not bother to pick any up.
I am headed to Long Beach to see family for the weekend so I won;t be making any progress on the 2nd cover.

Any progress?

I hate these threads, after the first look you really want to see them until they done.....progress every day!

looks good brian, when ure done can u come down and do my frame plse ;)
then u can use the drill press fur da holes:waytogo:

I got the hole done pretty quick once I charged the battery up. Drill press would be a PITA since I am putting them on the angled side of the cover...

What needs welding on your frame?
