freaking right ! nice find

so first gens(k-5's, jimmies, burbs/panels) still exist somewhere ?

and in AZ specifically ?

just how nice is the chandler area exactly ? what kind of ppl, what climate, (temps around the year, precipitation levels), age of vehicles that are still around and can be bought like how you just got this jimmy ? i ask because i am going to be going out west towards the end of this year either for several months or permanently but still retain the building and vehicles i have here in IL,

vehicles like that arent sitting around here, let alone seeing one ever being driven, just arent any, zero first gens, long gone years and years ago, :(
so i cant even imagine that anyone is finding any anywhere, its just crazy to think about it, i just cant/dont believe it, but theres pics i keep seeing, so it must be true  so thats cool :D

humm.

good luck with yours :D

Guys daily drive first gens here . Actually guys daily drive anything here , from restored cars and trucks to full on rockbuggies .

Chandler is a suburb city outside Phoenix , so weather is simmilar . You have spring and summer . It can rain a lot some years , but mostly dry except for winter and the monsoon in the summer . It can get in the 70's in winter , and 115's in summer . Usually bearable anyway since we don't get much moisture .

Living here is pretty good if you have a/c .

Lots of parts and trucks . The best part is the people , you will not find better group of guys than the AZ Ck5 members :D

Arizona

I am down here in Tucson and it is about 100 miles south and 5 degrees cooler than the Phoenix Valley. There are tons of great trails and playgrounds to go offroading and lots of groups to get together with all over the state.

K5Redneck, that is a sweet find! Did you find it in the Valley? Are those bullet holes I see? Even better for a trail rig!

Hey, yours looks a lot like mine. My wife hates the color- she calls it baby poop yellow. But I happen to like it. About going to HEI. I opted to put a Pertronix ignition in. It all fits under the cap and rotor and replaces the points and condenser permanently. Takes about 2 hours to install with simple tools. I've had mine on now for about 18 months and have never had to touch it. The thing purrs like a kitten now that I rebuilt the carb. 1st Gen's are so much fun to drive. I take the top off in the summer and I'm always catching people staring at it. It's a real hoot. Plus, they are soooo much easier to work on than the newer smogmobiles.

That's a great deal, even for AZ. Congrats man. I am thinking of joining the first gen family some day, so I've been lurking around here. It'd be a lot sooner than later if I happened upon a deal like that. Probably doesn't work now, but did it have fac a/c?
